  • Luuk van Bree update

A couple bits of news regarding former Bradley player Luuk van Bree-

First, Bradley fans owe Luuk a big thank you for his help in "promoting the Bradley brand" over in the Netherlands! It paid off big time this past week.

Luuk's team in the DBL (Dutch Basketball League), ZZ Leiden, finished their regular season 17-4, the best record in the DBL.
They started their postseason playoff run yesterday with an 86-77 win over BAL Weert. in game 1 of the quarterfinals. Luuk had 7 points and 5 rebounds.
This is Luuk's first season of pro ball since he sat out all of last season recovering from the achilles tendon rupture he suffered shortly after his senior season ended in 2019. Luuk is averaging 6.9 ppg and 3.5 rpg, and 38.4% from the 3-point line. Luuk came off the bench much of this season, but now has secured a starting spot with his consistent and unselfish play.

And as I posted a few months ago, Luuk is on the roster of the Netherlands National team for the Eurobasket 2022 competition.

They played 2 qualifying matches earlier this year, and Luuk, who had just joined the team, played in the second game against Sweden, and had 7 points, 5 rebounds. The qualifying games will resume later this year.

Luuk played great in the tournament and was a big part of our winning his senior year. Love that guy, and definitely helps our recruiting overseas!

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

Luuk epitomizes what it means to be a Braves4Life.

Way to go Luuk! That's the kind of shooting we got used to seeing from you in Peoria!
