Speaking of which, any chance of Sean East III returning to Bradley? Or has that ship permanently sailed? I noticed he's still without a school and Bradley could use an extra guard.

That doesn’t sound like something BW would do. If they split ways, I’m guessing there was good reason.

Coach: would love to hear your opinion on Linke. I personally remember being very excited about him when he committed and he is supposed to be a great rebounder and defensive player, which I thought he showed in the very limited playing time he got. I still think this kid is going to be very good and believe it’s premature to talk him down after such a strange and unusual year in which he got very little chance to grow as a player.

He’s already a pretty good size kid that will no doubt get bigger and stronger as he gets older. I think he’s going to surprise a lot of people in 2021.

From what I have heard, I would say no chance. Bradley did not want him to leave. He would have likely been the starting point guard next season. It was his choice to leave.

I agree. I think he just needs more time to develop than some recruits. Our coaches saw his future potential and strong work ethic and offered him. I think he will play more and contribute a lot in the next couple years.

Update on Bradley players who entered the Transfer Portal-
              Antonio Thomas- uncommitted
              Sean East II- uncommitted
Danya Kingsby- transferring to Grambling State
Terry Nolan, Jr.- transferring to Towson
              Kevin McAdoo- transferring to Detroit-Mercy

The Division I Transfer Portal has 1600 names, about 600 more than any previous year, and there is usually another slight surge after college graduations and into the summer. However, only about 900 of the transfers have committed somewhere. That leaves 700 kids still hoping to land somewhere on scholarship. There are also 500 names uncommitted on the Division II Transfer Portal list. So that's currently 1,200 kids who were playing college basketball and getting a college education for free, who are now in jeopardy of losing all of that.
A lot of D1 schools still have open scholarships, so some will still find a D1 school to offer them. And, a few might go back to their previous schools, but many of them can't because their scholarships have been taken, or that bridge has been burned. And many will have to settle for D2 or lower. But this year's enticement of greener pastures, the NCAA's prospect of immediate eligibility, and an extra year will result in a lot of kids who end up disappointed and screwed out of college scholarships.

Sean East has transferred to John A. Logan Community College, a 2-year junior college in Cartersville, Illinois, just a couple miles from Carbondale.
It's not often you will find the cupboards bare at John A. Logan College. With the loss of at least four players from last year's Region 24 championship team, Vols' head coach Kyle Smithpeters contin...

It seems a little odd, since Sean has already spent 2 full years in college (one at UMass and one at Bradley), so it is unusual that he would go play at a junior college for his 3rd college season and lose one of his remaining years of eligibility.

More likely he’s got academic issues. You only have to look at his stats from two mid majors to see he’s a quality d1 point guard.

Perhaps East found out he'd have to sit out a year since he'd already transferred. It may not have been a grade issue if that's the case.

                        That’s a good point I hadn’t thought of. I bet that’s it

I wonder if Thomas Hall will be asked to try out for the basketball team as well. They have a pretty good division 3 program. It is not often a D-3 school gets a 6'9" kid

Here is the 2021-22 roster for Augustana College basketball.
                              https://athletics.augustana.edu/spor...ketball/roster

It doesn't show any freshmen, so I suspect it it does not yet include any of their new incoming or transfer players. If Thomas did decide to play basketball, and if it was approved by the coaches (many college football and basketball coaches these days don't like their players to compete in other sports), he would be one of the tallest kids on the team. Though the PJ Star reported Thomas as 6'9", the Bradley roster listed him at 6'7", which is probably more accurate.

Best wishes and good luck Thomas!

Update on former Bradley player Thomas Hall, who left the Bradley basketball team after last season to play football....
He is at Augustana College, a Division III school in Rock Island and he is officially listed on their football roster as a sophomore Quarterback-
                                https://athletics.augustana.edu/spor...omas-hall/8683

Here is their entire roster. Hall is #15. They have 138 players listed on their 2021 football roster, many of them sharing the same numbers-

They have played 3 games so far, and are 1-2- they beat Division III Rhodes College of Memphis 31-21, lost to Milliken (21-27 in OT) and lost at North Central 58-6 (North Central is ranked #2 in D3).
Thomas Hall has been their primary QB so far. He is having a decent season. He is 35 for 71 for 426 yards, 3 TDs, and 1 interception. Not bad considering he hasn't played in a couple years.
https://athletics.augustana.edu/spor...ffense-passing (may need to scroll up and click "Individual" stats, then "Passing" stats)

                                Good luck Thomas!
The football season runs through mid-November, and their basketball schedule starts with a game Nov. 6. So if Thomas does consider playing basketball, he would have to join the basketball team a bit late. He is not listed on their 2021-22 basketball roster, which has 24 rostered players, including 10 freshmen. They might be able to use him, since they don't have much height. There is one junior who is 6'8", and a 6'9" freshman. Otherwise, there is no player over 6'6".
