  • The NCAA ratifies the one time transfer without penalty; but there's a catch

The NCAA ratified the new proposal to allow all athletes in all sports, including football and basketball, to transfer one time without the penalty of sitting out a year.

However, there is a catch which will affect many of the players in this year's transfer portal, including several of the players who transferred from Bradley. The new one-time transfer rule is only applicable to student-athletes who have not previously transferred.

"The Division I Council adopted the legislation, which allows all student-athletes who have not transferred in the past the opportunity to compete immediately after transfer once in their period of eligibility."
The rule is now effective and applies to all student-athletes who want to transfer for the first time for the 2021-22 academic year. If a student has previously transferred, the waiver process is available.

This rule would appear not to be available to Bradley transfers Sean East II, Kevin McAdoo, Danya Kingsby, or Terry Nolan, Jr., since they have all transferred previously (unless any of them qualify as grad-transfers).
Antonio Thomas would be able to take advantage of the rule, because he has never previously transferred.

Good info Coach. I believe both Nolan and Kingsby graduated from Bradley so they should be able to play immediately.
