          I'll be there. Who's going?
          Larry Bird

They said on the radio today that the Illini team is out-drawing our game.

That'll make beating them twice as nice!

Patrick O'Bryant is the Always a Brave player in the 3-point contest-
                    https://twitter.com/OnceABrave/statu...27563661385729

Here is the 3-point shooting match between #13 Patrick O'Bryant of Always a Brave and #4 Brandon Neel of the Hoopville Warriors. They each had one minute to shoot and make as many 3-pointers as they can. It appears that POB wins easily with 11 made 3-pointers to 4 for Brandon Neel. POB missed his first 3 attempts, then made 11 of the next 13. (Enlarge to full-screen for maximum detail)

Unfortunately, in the 2nd round, Patrick O'Bryant was defeated by Mike Daum of the House of 'Paign (Illinois Alumni) team.
Daum is a 2019 graduate of South Dakota State, who was a 3-time Player of the Year in the Summit Conference, and a 3rd team All American as a senior.

Mike Daum shot 41.0% on 3-pointers in his college career-

Patrick O'Bryant never attempted a 3-point shot in his 2 seasons at Bradley-

Illini alumni upset by Jackson Underdawgs, 64-58.

This means AAB would fortuitously face the 14 seed next. But that team has proven tough in the past and nearly upset AAB too a few years back.

Here is the recap of the #15 seed Jackson TN Underdogs 64-58 upset of the #2 seed House of Paign (Illinois alumni)-
                          https://thetournament.com/news/jacks...ouse-of-paign/

                          Box score- https://thetournament.com/scores/?WH...5%2Fsummary%3F

Former Drake & MVC star Rayvonte Rice had 21 points for the Illinois alumni, but they shot poorly (33% overall and 28% from three) and were outrebounded by the shorter Jackson TN Underdogs.
A couple surprising stats: Jackson TN had 28 points in the paint, while the Illinois alumni had just 16. And the Jackson bench out-scored the Illinois bench 45 points to 5 points.
The Illinois alumni played just 8 players and only 6 of them scored. Jackson TN played 13 players and 11 of them scored. Depth and fatigue appeared to be a problem for the Illini, as they were outscored in the 4th quarter 20-9.

The Jackson TN Underdogs will play the winner of the Always a Brave-Hoopville Warriors game on Monday night at 8:00 PM (Central) on ESPN2.
                          Go AAB!

Donte Thomas is in street clothes and not playing. Maybe it is connected to him just signing a new pro contract-
Donte Thomas played this past season in Italy with Pallacanestro Cantů of the Italian Serie A League. Donte has signed a new deal with Alba Fehérvár of the top pro league in Hungary. https://www.eurobasket.com/Hungary/news/695701/Donte-Thomas-(ex-Cantu)-signs-at-Alba https://twitter.com/TangramSports/status/1418255978122854407

Many of the European pro teams won't allow their players to compete in other events while under contract.

Always a Brave trails Hoopville Warriors 33-28 at halftime. Their defense has not been good, and their shooting has been poor. They look like a bunch of guys who haven't played together before.
They did not even defend the last possession by Hoopville Wariors, and it resulted in a 3-pointer at the buzzer. Hope they play better in the 2nd half.

                              Stats-

12-37 (32%) from the field, and 4-20 (20%) from three. Nate Kennell with 6 points on a couple threes is the top scorer for AAB. Dinma Odiakosa has 6 rebounds to lead AAB. They have yielded 20 points in the paint by the much smaller Hoopville Warriors.
