The Basketball Tournament- Always a Brave in Illinois Region
I would love to agree, Tommy, but my optimism is not quite as high. Several of the Always a Brave team's key players (O'Bryant, Bennett, Sommerville) are now in the mid-30's or approaching 40, and have been out of regular competition for a while. And, other than POB, the team doesn't have much size. Plus, as you suggest, they may not have much time to practice together since they are spread out all over. The level of competition in The Basketball Tournament has improved a lot over the last 5 years, with many teams featuring ex-NBA players and other pros. I believe they will be competitive, but it will be tough to keep up with younger teams that have played together a lot.
Great points indeed.
We’re probably not as talented this year, but nice to see some recent guys on the team.
If we win 1 or 2, I’d be happy.
A Walt/DB backcourt will be something to see. Both are ball dominant guards.
Wow - didn’t think about that. I imagine these 2 will be the handlers on this team.
Always fun to see Walt’s slashing, play-making, and engine that’s always going.
Heeeeeck yes. These late breaking additions show that this team isn’t planning on just making an appearance. Great mix of youth and experience. Keep building
Another roster update- Sharpshooting guard Jimmy Gavin, who played 1 season at Bradley (2012-13), then was at the Division II level at Wisconsin-Parkside for a couple years, then finished his college career at Winthrop in 2015-16 where he averaged 18.7 ppg. Jimmy played with the 2018 Always a Brave team.

You add in DLO and I’m buying the all session pass.
DLO will not be available this summer. He is on the Great Britain National Team and they are scheduled to be playing qualifying games later this summer in the Eurobasket 2022 tournament. So, they will be practicing all summer.
For the same reason, Luuk van Bree will not be available. He is a member of the Netherlands National Team which is also involved in the Eurobasket 2022 qualifying games later this summer.

Them boys need to assess their priorities. Gonna be pretty painful for them watching our team split up the $2M USD.

You're a real dream dasher, Coach.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.
