  • Bradley recruiting article in PJ Star

Dave Eminian of the PJ Star has a good article in today's PJ Star about Bradley's recruiting and how the coaches are monitoring the transfer portal and contacting players-
    https://www.pjstar.com/story/sports/...al/7038301002/

A few clips from the article-

"We have about 15 names on our short list right now,...We were close on a kid a couple weeks ago, and in the final 48 hours before we thought he was coming here, a Big 12 school grabbed him and he was gone."

"We vet players through Synergy.com and KenPom and other analytics places,"

Bradley's coaching staff will spend 125 hours on each player it recruits....Facetime calls come next....Then, on to Zoom.

...the Braves are looking for guards, guards and guards....
The '21-22 depth chart for Bradley figures to have four transfers on it, and likely a completely new trio at point guard.

Unfortunately, not a single word about Elijah Childs.

I don't know which player that refers to, but it might have been Damion Baugh. Bradley had recruited him out of high school, but he committed to Memphis. He was in the transfer portal and Bradley was in touch again, but he just committed to Texas Christian University

There was one other possibility.... Bradley was involved with Cam Martin as soon as he hit the transfer portal, and was in serious consideration-

But he got a late offer from Kansas, and committed there.

I don't know about anyone else but I really enjoy Dave Eminian covering the Braves. Seems like I learn more from the articles and there also seems to be a fresher approach.

This is one of the best articles I’ve seen from the Journal Star about BU in a long time. It’s good to see that Dave and BU coaches seem to have a really good trust of each other

IMO, it would have been a bit more informative if it included names and information about recruits.

I get this opinion, but the coaching staff can’t comment on a recruit until he officially signed, even if they’ve verbally agreed to come here. I doubt, even off the record, Brian would have told a reporter the names of players they’re recruiting. Sure, Dave could have listed names of players that we can find on online databases, but Wardle has said in the past that about half of those names are players they’re not even recruiting. The only confirmed players are ones who have announced the offers on Twitter and even then, those players could be lying. Calling recruits “player x” and just commenting on the positions they are recruiting is best way to not only do credible reporting without having to retract anything, but also to keep the NCAA off of our back about potential violations.

Yes, that is understandable. But many beat writers, including Dave himself, have published names of recruits in previous articles.
I have always noticed that other than information about the games themselves, the topics and posts that get the most views and discussion from fans are the ones with specific information about Bradley recruiting.
We follow numerous recruiting sites, including several subscription sites, to try to dig up names and information. But any additional info is always welcome!
