I have been watching a lot of basketball, and seen some questionable calls. But this one from the CUSA tournament wins the prize for the worst call yesterday-

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end. -
You have to wonder.... blown calls happen in every game, but I am not sure I have ever seen an endline or sideline out of bounds call that was that wrong.
Officials know there are multiple video angles that will show whether an endline violation like that is correct. You'd think he would be absolutely sure about it before he blows his whistle, and makes a demonstrative call.
This was a crucial call late in the game with the score tied. The UTEP basket that was nullified would have given them the lead, but instead, Florida Atlantic went ahead, and held on for the win.
Unfortunately, as a result, this official's "blown call" becomes the headline reason UTEP lost-

I have never been a sports official, but if I was, the one rule I would adhere to is that you should only blow the whistle if you saw the violation clearly and were 100% sure about it.Comment

Could be (and I'm not justifying this utterly terrible call) that ref was looking at something else and caught the foot/baseline out of corner of eye, and then when he turned to actually see it, his foot came up...
Or just plain corruption. LOLComment

You see refs “anticipate” stuff all the time that didn’t happen. Could be corruption, but not necessarily so. He may have just gone by “feel” instead of on observed reality. I would be so disappointed.Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.Comment
