That is what I have been told by the coaches.

This doesn’t sounds great for East, doesn’t sound like guarantee he will be back: https://amp.pjstar.com/amp/686588300...mpression=true

I can't imagine them not bringing East back if he wants to come back. He showed far too much promise as a sophomore and DC says the coaches like him, so I'll be very surprised if he is gone.

I do believe that they will be looking very hard for a big 5 to backup Ari, or best case scenario, supplant him, but when Ari is healthy he is one awfully big body and a mobile one at that, so finding someone better in the middle will not be easy. Very hard to win in the valley without a solid big in the middle.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

East with a decent game tonight and scores 16. Going through pretty much a full season I think will help him gain toughness and realize what it takes to be a premier PG in the league.

East is my favorite Brave who played tonight and I'd hate for him to leave, as he and Mast were the most consistent (maybe Ja'Shon too) from start to finish.

However that article, unless the journalist forgot all the players, doesn't bode well. Sounds like AT and East are questionable, and if East leaves, we have no guards who are really starting material. Yeeouch!

I read that article, and I am not getting quite the same impression about Sean East as you are. First, though Dave Eminian might be right, the article appears to be all speculation. There are no quotes from any of the coaches or any substantiation about the future of any of any specific players, though Dave believes Childs, Kingsby, and Nolan will probably not return. So, yes, thare is no guarantee about Sean, but there also is no guarantee regarding any player that they will be back.

And, I appreciate articles like this from Dave and I hope we continue seeing them. I think he is right that we will see multiple players who will not return. The article mentions 12 of the 15 players, but it never mentions Sean East (it also never mentions Kevin McAdoo or Antonio Thomas).
But then Dave says, "Specifically, Bradley likely will look to the NCAA transfer portal to find an alpha-type point guard with size and significant playing experience. In short, they want a big, older guard."
I assume that is also his own speculation, since he doesn't attribute that to any source. But, it sounds like he is describing another Sean East. Sean fits that description perfectily.
The coaches have always been very high on Sean, and I don't know of anything that has changed there, though I do not have any inside knowledge about Sean's future. So I guess we'll have to wait and see, but I think Sean can be a very effective point guard for next year's team, whoever else that may include.

I know I tend to be on the lower East, but I think he is a good 6th man on a good team. I am not saying he can't improve, and maybe next year he is in the Penn-mold. I personally would be fine with him as the starting PG if we had a Theron Wilson/Chris Roberts type on the wing, and a Gage Prim type in the post. I don't mind Mast playing the 4 or the 5, but you need a reliable shot blocker with him.

The quote that stuck out to me was: “Questions surround the rest of the guards, with changes likely on the horizon. Bradley will have four or five scholarships to give”

That seems to include East since he wasn’t mentioned in the group that Dave speculates are back (which did include Ville). He even mentioned the walk-ons. So Dave seems less certain East will be back than other players. Also 4 to 5 scholarships to give implies 4 to 5 openings. The players he mentioned as likely back (Mast, Boya, Henry, Hannah, Ville, Kent, Linke) and then Hickman is 8. That only leaves 5, so if 5 spots are open, East’s spot is not certain by Dave’s logic.

I hope it’s wrong, as I believe in East, and I do like seeing the article as well. But he is not in the group speculated to be back, even if it is just speculation, he does cover the team.
