  • Bradley splits 2-game series with Drake Feb. 26 & 27

Bradley's final 2 regular season games are at home against Drake, Friday, Feb. 26 and Saturday, Feb. 27.
The Friday, Feb. 26 game starts at 6:00 pm, and is on the MVC-TV Network (NBCSports Chicago Plus and FoxSports Midwest)
The Saturday, Feb. 27 game starts at 7:00 pm, and is on ESPN+
EDIT: The starting time for the Saturday, Feb. 27 game has been changed to 6:00 pm

    Note:
Ordinarily, the final home game would be "Senior Night". However, Coach Wardle said on Tuesday's MVC Coaches Teleconference that "as of now" with both Bradley seniors still suspended, Bradley is not planning to have a senior recognition ceremony-

Bradley is 11-14, and 5-11 in the MVC. They are tied for 7th place with SIU and UNI, one game behind Evansville and Valparaiso, who are tied for 5th place. Bradley needs to win one or probably both games to avoid the Thursday play-in games.
Drake is 23-2 and 14-2 in the MVC. They are currently tied with Loyola for 1st place, and need to win both games to maintain a chance to win the MVC regular season, and to have a chance at an at-large bid if they do not win the MVC Tournament.

As of now, Bradley leading scorer Elijah Childs, second-leading scorer Terry Nolan, and Danya Kingsby remain suspended. And Ari Boya had surgery on his foot last week after breaking a bone, and he is done for the season.

Drake is missing 2 of their starters- Leading scorer Shanquan Hemphill (14.1 ppg), who broke a bone in his foot in a game Feb. 10, had surgery on Feb. 11, and was said to be out at least 4 weeks, which would mean he will miss Drake's games through the MVC Tournament. And they are also missing Roman Penn, their second-leading scorer (11.2 ppg), who went down with a broken bone in his left foot in their game Feb. 21. He is done for the season.

I'd like to be optimistic, but it's hard not just to want this season to end and take our chances in the tournament. And look forward to next season when we are hopefully past COVID. For a season to start with such hope and end like this one is just depressing...

I can't believe there is nothing new on the 3 players that are suspended.

I think they are still waiting on the Springfield police to conclude their investigation and release their findings.

I want to know what they are being accused of. I can see sitting out the Missouri State games because of violation of Covid-19 and curfew, but this is getting ridiculous. I guess your guilty until proven innocent!!

I don't know anything about the criminal investigation by SPD, but I have heard that all 3 suspended players have played their last minutes of Bradley Basketball forever. What a terrible blow to a program that's been on the rise.

In the eyes of the law then yes they are innocent until proven guilty. Regardless of the law, they probably broke Bradley policy and they have the right to do whatever want regarding suspension. This season has pretty much been lost before this even happened, even if we were contending for an at-large I think Bradley would still do the same. It would be terrible PR to be on a national stage while having players investigated for sex crimes. Regardless, this season is pretty much done and those player's careers are likely done here. Lets get some of these young guys more minutes and see what they are capable of in these last couple games and look forward to next year.

I assumed this to be true, but a very unfortunate reality. Childs should have gotten a hero's send off had this not happened. I truly hope they didn't do anything, but it is looking less and less likely with the amount of time this is taking.

The problem with this program is that the rises are few and far between.

I guess when we analyze the program in last 20 years, yes.
But we wouldn't be talking about this now if THIS season hadn't disintegrated as rapidly as it did.

I think most of us figured we'd be talking AT WORST about finishing as a 4-seed...Again, and being disappointed.
I would give anything to be complaining about that right about now. LOL

The PJS article says tonight's game will also be carried on ESPN+. I hope so, and hope it's not blacked out, because otherwise I'll be listening on the radio..

Hi Class77...at very least, if it's on ESPN+ and blacked out, I am pretty sure that you can watch it on Replay later.
That's what I intend to do for both games.
