Forums and threads should appear in bold type when they have unread posts in them, and as non-bold type when you have read all the posts in that thread. However, there have been some conflicts with the way the cookie system was working.
So we have changed the way the forums and threads are marked as read.
Formerly, it worked using a cookie system, that stored the information on your computer. Somehow, this was causing some problems for users.
But we have switched to a more reliable system that stores the information in our server's database. It uses more disk space, but is far more reliable. It should resolve this issue.
But as a result of the change, all the forums and threads (even going back to the earliest threads) will appear unread the first time each member visits since this change was made.
You can mark all the old threads as read by clicking on the Quick Links menu option on the right side of the top blue menu banner. Then select Mark Forums Read.
Hopefully, this should resolve this problem, and this action should only need to be done once.
