SIU Head Coach Bryan Mullins has told media that leading scorer Marcus Domask will not be playing this weekend in SIU's games Saturday & Sunday at home against Illinois State. He has not played since their January 4 game at Drake, missing their last 7 games. SIU is just 2-5 in the games Domask has missed. They were 7-3 in their first ten games with Domask playing.

Loyola at Drake is on ESPN2.... After a competitive and close 1st half, now Loyola has run out to an 18 point lead in the 2nd half, and appears to be dominating the game-

Drake obviously misses their leading scorer, ShanQuan Hemphill, but it is also clear that Loyola is the better team. Drake can't stop Cameron Krutwig (Darnell Brodie now on the bench with 4 fouls), but when they double-team him, guys like Aher Uguak are left open for easy baskets. Uguak has 18 points already, and Loyola is getting a lot of open looks and shooting over 60% from the floor.

Valparaiso bounces back from the shellacking that they received from Bradley on Wednesday and played a very good game at Northern Iowa.
Valpo lead almost all the way, and beat UNI 70-57-

Valpo and Bradley are 2 of the teams fighting to stay out of the Thursday play-in round. By winning, Valpo moves into 6th place and Bradley drops into 7th place. There are still enough games left for a lot to change.

Loyola pulled out to a quick lead in the first MVC game today at Drake (Sunday, 2/14) in a low-scoring game. But Drake closed the lead to 3 points by the end of the first half, despite going 0-9 from three, so far, and getting outrebounded 21-16 by Loyola.
