Drake was in a battle all game but prevailed 80-77 to stay unbeaten. Valpo extended their lead to 10 with 16:00 left to go before the Bulldogs chipped away, tieing it up at 55 with 11:21 left. The next 8:00 saw the lead go back and forth 8 times before Tremell Murphy's 2nd 3 of the game put Drake up 70-69 with 3:49 left and they never trailed again. 2 more Drake 3's completed an 11-0 4:00 run to put them up 76-69. A 4 point play by Sheldon Edwards cut the lead to 3 but Drake made 4-8 Ft's to seal the win. Shanquan Hemphill had 18 points and 11 boards for Drake and Murphy kicked in 11 and 11. Edwards had 20 while Ben Krikke had 16 for Valpo. They play again tomorrow at 1:00. Drake was 33-62 from the field and outrebounded Valpo 47-27.

Loyola and Evansville went back and forth for the 1st 10:00 minutes but the Ramblers wore them down in the 2nd half and won 68-55.Cameron Krutwig had 20 and 11 for Loyola while Nate Frederking had 15 for Evansville. Loyola was 27-49 from the field.

Missouri State wins at Illinois State 74-67-

ILSU sophomore guards D.J. Horne and Antonio Reeves were a combined 14-32 from the floor and 6-12 from three for 40 of their 67 points. The rest of the team was 11-27 and 1-10 from three.
MVC leading scorer Isaiah Mosley had 19 points to lead Missouri State.

Missouri State and ISU Red had a heck of a game for 35 minutes as 25 lead changes and 9 ties happened during that time. The Bears led 59-58 with 5:34 left then went on a 4:00 8-0 run to put the game away. Isiaiah Mosely led the Bears with 19 points and Gage Prim had 11 and 11 while DJ Horne of ISU led all scorers with 23 points.

Pretty much every result we needed to happen happened today. We win and Evansville, Valpo, UNI and the Redbirds all lose. Hopefully we can wash, rinse and repeat this tomorrow.

Maybe Drake’s worst half all year as they are losing at Valpo 36-24.

Valpo lead Drake yesterday by 8 at halftime, and stretched it to 10 points in the 2nd half before Drake started their comeback.
Valpo is now up by 20 points (53-33) with about 12 minutes left in the game. Can Drake mount another comeback?
We have seen before that it doesn't take much for the NCAA Selection Committee to eliminated an MVC team from an at-large bid.

Missouri State finishes off Illinois State for the second day in a row. Isaiah Mosley had 23 points, but he took 23 shots to get them (8-23, 3-10 from three). D.J. Horne lead ISU with 18 points. ISU has now lost 6 games in a row and 11 of their last 13. Missouri State wins their 2nd in a row after losing 4 straight games.
