There are apparently some rumors floating around that the Ohio Valley Conference would like to add Indiana State University. The OVC is a football conference, and they just lost 2 of their better football programs (Eastern Kentucky & Jacksonville State just left the OVC to join the Atlantic Sun Conference), and it makes sense that they might look to add a football school like Indiana State. For the record, Indiana State's administration denies they would consider such a move. Indiana State beat writer Todd Golden covers all the reasons why it would not be a good move for Indiana State.
For the last few years, there were rumors that the Missouri Valley Conference might consider adding two schools, perhaps from the Ohio Valley Conference (such as Murray State and/or Belmont) and expand to 12 schools, divided into 2 divisions. But those rumors seem to have died down.
Since 1996 when Tulsa left the MVC, there have been only 2 recent changes. Creighton left in 2013 and joined the Big East and was quickly replaced by Loyola. And Wichita State left in 2017, joined the American Athletic Conference, and was quickly replaced by Valparaiso.
