The Redbirds got it to 40-30 with 18:38 left then Drake decided to show everyone why they are undefeated and the #25 team in the country, outscoring ISU Red 55-30 to win 95-60. Tremell Murphy had a game high 30 for the Bulldogs who were 35-68 overall, 13-31 from 3 and had 25 assists and just 7 turnovers. For ISU Antonio Reeves had 20 points on 8-11 shooting, 2-3 from 3. The rest of the was 16-49 overall, 4-27 from 3 and had 15 turnovers. Drake plays this Saturday and Sunday at Valpo.
Loyola is now 15-3, 10-1 in the Mo Valley after beating up Missouri State once again in Springfield 70-50. The Ramblers broke out to a 9-0 lead and never looked back. Cameron Krutwig led Loyola in scoring with 19 as they shot 26-43 overall, and a sizzling 8-13 from 3. The Bears were 19-46 overall, 0-12 from 3, and have now lost 4 straight. Loyola hosts Evansville this weekend.
Evansville have put themselves into 3rd place in the Mo Valley with a 58-51 come from behind wind against Valpo. The Purple Aces gradually came back and took their first lead of the game at 46-45 with 5:02 left. After trading the lead a few times Evansville went ahead for good at 51-49 with 3:10 left and didn't look back. Neither team shot the ball great but Evansville had 4 guys in double figures.
