Drake's great start

I thought I'd give Drake its own thread. They're knocking on the door of the Top 25, and I believe if the Bulldogs beat Missouri State again tonight and go to 15-0, they will land there when next Monday's polls come out. I don't see ISU-red beating them in Des Moines on Sunday night.

I'd also think going to 15-0 will merit some national publicity for Drake and our league. Google "Drake basketball" and search for news stories. There aren't many . . . yet.

Since I don't see any way our Braves are going to win the regular season MVC title, I'm pulling for Drake (where our daughter went to school) to continue their winning ways until we meet them at the end of February. It was exciting cheering for them last night. Hopefully the Braves will be at full strength and give them good games at season's end, and then beat them in the championship game of the MVC tournament so we both get to go dancing! : )

Now don't go becoming a Drake fan. We need you to stay a Bradley fan!
I agree with you about Drake- it is definitely good to have a couple teams getting national publicity. Wish one of them was Bradley. But we do get Drake here in Peoria Feb. 26 & 27, though we'll have to play Missouri State on their home court Feb. 13 & 14.

And congrats to you and your daughter for affording the Drake tuition for 4 years. Drake is an outstanding academic school.

Don't worry, DC, I will always bleed BU red and can't wait to cheer for them in person. But those Bulldogs won again tonight so I may be wearing my old "Drake Dad" cap a little more often. : )
