PJStar article today is excellent again. Tough, factual, optimistic tone w/o fawning, a lot of player and coach quotes.
Reading this new level of coverage just reinforces how lacking it truly had been. Good job PJS.
Did anyone notice ISU Coach Dan M ...literally grab and smack two of his players as they were goof waiving to the BU bench at the end of the game ? They clearly were punk waving towards BU as ISU started to walk off the floor. Dan M went nuts.

I missed that. Just went back and watched it twice. They must have been saying something, in addition to the wave. Man, you're right. Dan M didn't like that one little bit. His stock just climbed a notch in my book.

Yes, you can see the incident in this video from ISU beat writer Jim Benson of the Bloomington Pantagraph. Keep your eye on Dan Muller (in the white short sleeve shirt with no tie near the middle of the frame). Just as the final seconds run off the clock, Muller waves down the court to the Bradley coaches (no handshakes these days), but then he turns and notices 2 ISU players waving, too (Alex Kotov and Dusan Mahorcic). He must have thought they were doing it as a means of taunting the Bradley players. I am not completely sure they were, but Muller gets animated, yanks their arms down, appears to punch each one in the chest and let them know he didn't want them doing that. Then he turned and walked off the court. https://twitter.com/Pg_Benson/status...04678411153409
One other ISU player (#0 D.J. Horne) was also waving with both arms just to the right of Kotov and Mahorcic. Horne's 2-arm waving looked a lot more like a taunting move, but Muller didn't seem to react to him the same as he did with the other two.
Recall that Horne was given a technical foul in the game for an incident of taunting the Bradley bench.
The kids that Muller recruits have a lot to be desired. Not nearly as high character as BU kids IMO. Some quite plainly act like thugs...I hate that cause both my parents are alums so I do want Redbirds to do well every season...though I’d never root for them to beat our Braves!
Just shocking to see the score for 1st time at 60-42. I thought it was a misprint and other way around.
I’m totally fine if we have 1 or 2 crapper games this season as long as we play like we had before this game.
And we gotta finish season strong like every yr under Coach Wardle.
1 more point - when Ville doesn’t make a 3-ball in games, most likely we lose. It’s crazy, but on flip side, if he hits 3 or more, we almost always win.
I think to have cruised in a few games has a negative effect on us, though I love how Wardle gets the guys focused every game - even when we’re up big at halftime.
I don’t see a huge deal with the after game wave-taunting. This was a big surprise win for them. The fact that coach Muller struck at least one player above the neck? That is potentially problematic, actually. Personally I love what Dan Muller brings to the redbird program and I hope this is overlooked.
If this is the BU team that shows up this weekend, they will get swept in a pair of blowouts. Need to find the heart that they have consistently shown the last several years.
Agreed! Seem to have way more knowledge of the game Imo
It's called game prep. It's not hard, and most broadcasters spend a couple hours on game prep before every game. But some guys try to get by with little or no prep. It is easy to tell when an announcer doesn't know the names and numbers of players and get them mixed up as Morris did a number of times with the Bradley players. And he didn't even know the stats or the players' histories for his own team, let alone the visiting team. Most of his comments were a variation of "oh! that was really a nice play".
