Nice article by Dave Eminian about Elijah Childs-

Great article. Elijah is definitely the heart and soul of this Bradley team. It has been great watching him these last 4 years and watching him grow as a player and a great young man and hoping he gets his shot at showing what he can do at the next level.

Great article on a great person and player. He's one of my 5 all time Bradley players, right up there with Walker and Hawkins. Good luck Elijah, hope to see you in a NBA uniform some day.

I really enjoyed the article. Very well written. I like Elijah even more after reading it.

Nice article! It seemed to indicate this was Eli’s last year, but wouldn’t he be eligible to return next under new rules? Is he considering coming back for the extra year or is he for sure done this year?

Yes, he would be eligible to return next season.

He could work on his Masters like other players have in the past

Because the NCAA granted everyone an extra year, Eli would not be required to do a Masters program like a grad-transfer would have to do. He would just need to do a minimum of 12 credit hours (NCAA requirement to qualify as a full-time student) of anything he wanted. However, if he graduates, he could enter a Masters program if he wanted to.

Incidentally, a high percentage of grad-transfers never complete their Masters program at their new school. That shows what most of us knew all along, that the whole grad-transfer thing is a joke. The NCAA claimed it was mainly to allow athletes with remaining eligibility to pursue higher degrees. But it was always just a way for the Power 6 teams to cherry pick players off the rosters of the mid-majors.

I rather think some seniors will wait and see whether this season and it’s results represent what to them equals success... before a final decision on year 5. If, for instance, your team result fell far short of goals, then it would be hard to pass up a do-over. On the other hand, if you succeed, perhaps you will decide to “go out on top.” Of course, the first scenario makes the assumption that you are still enjoying this phase of life and all the pressures and hard work that come with it.

My guess will be it will depend greatly on how the games are played next season. If fans are allowed back, I think the players will want to come back. If the lockdowns continue and fans are still not allowed at games, I can imagine it's not nearly as fun or motivating to play. Nothing compares to the excitement of a crowd (remember last year's MVC championship game!), both for players and the fans.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.
