  • Trivia: What team has played the most games against Division I opponents?

The answer is Carver College, a tiny Christian Bible College in Atlanta, GA with an enrollment of about 60 students. They have played 14 games against Division I opponents so far. The 14th D1 game was a tough loss last night to Florida International 111-34-

On Sunday, they lost 119-43 to Georgia Southern, and they had similar blowout losses to Stetson, Georgia State, Liberty, Presbyterian, McNeese State, The Citadel, Charleston Southern, Appalachian State, Austin Peay, North Alabama, Wofford, and Kennesaw State.
Their only game against a non-D1 opponent was a 96-49 loss to NAIA William Carey University back in November.

Carver College is not an NCAA college, nor NAIA. They belong to the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association).
They have played 14 games against the Division I opponents listed above, and have 2 more scheduled. No other team has played more than 10 games against D1 opponents!

They are 0-14 in those D1 games, and 0-15 overall, including their loss to William Carey. They have lost by an average of 58 points.

They will get a guaranteed amount of money for playing those teams. For a small college like Carver that is a blessing of income for them. My son coached at a small college in North Carolina that would play teams like Wofford and Tennessee. They would get clobbered but the kids liked playing against those teams plus the school got money for playing
