  • Welcome to the new BradleyFans board

    Wecome!

We hope you will like the new Forums. Eventually, we will get the design changed to show the Bradley and BradleyFans colors and logos, but this new forum is new to us, too. So it will take a while to get things tuned up.

Everyone who was registered on the old board should be registered here with the same name and password. I assume you should be able to edit your settings and set up an avatar here by visiting your profile page. This can be done by clicking on the User CP (User Control Panel) on the left side of the blue banner across the top of every page.

If anyone has any problems, let me know by emailing me. Please be patient if it takes a while to get back to you.

    Da Coach--

        Time Zone correction needed

One thing I noticed is that it appears every member's time zone setting has been reset for GMT.

To display the correct time setting at the bottom of every page-- go to your User Control Panel (User CP on the left side of the blue banner across the top of every page).

Then click on Edit Options in the left column, scroll down and change the Time Zone setting to your own Time Zone. For most of the members this will be (GMT -6:00) Central Time (US & Canada).

While at it, you may also want to set it to Automatically detect DST (Daylight Savings Time) if you live in an area that observes Daylight Savings Time.

Also- note that the database that was moved here does not contain any posts after about 5pm on Wednesday. If there is anything you wish to see from the last 2 days, those posts are still available on the old board here--

I do not THINK this has been done:

The administrator may also have enabled custom avatars, which allows you to upload an avatar image from your computer.

I also noticed that all my old sent pm's returned even though I had always deleted them. My box was half full. No problem as I deleted them here.

                  Welcome here, Mike and everyone!

Don't let the new, generic look confuse you. Soon we'll have the Bradley-look again.

Another issue is marking topics as read. They reappear as unread.

The phpBB was frought with problems.
When there was a surge of activity, it had a tendency to overload the server.

Last Wednesday, we had nearly 500,000 page hits in one day, and over 100,000 (usually about a day's average for these past couple summer months) in just the half hour prior to the shut-down we experienced, as thousands of people, mostly Indiana fans were refreshing their screens to see the news on Matt Roth. That caused the server to shut us down. I have learned that all shared servers (servers that host multiple other sites in addition to ours) have limits that prevent one site from using too high a percentage of a servers resources. So when our site surged, it exceeded 35% of the processing power of the server, and that cut us off.

The 2 steps taken to help avoid similar problems--
We have moved to a better, more powerful, and more reliable server.
And we eliminated the phpBB board, and will use this much more reliable vBulletin board.

Hope everyone gives it time to get used to it. I am sure you will like it as well or better.

                              Mike-
This is working OK for me, too. So I am not sure what the problem is for you. When I log off and return, the only threads that appear unread are the new ones. I'll see if there is a setting here that helps fix this.
