  • Marcellus Sommerville's son playing at Peoria Notre Dame with J.R. Koch's son

Good article from the PJ Star about a couple of 15-year-olds playing at Peoria Notre Dame High School. Lathan Sommerville, son of Marcellus (who played at Peoria Central and at Bradley from 2003-2006), is already 6'8" tall, an inch taller than his dad. And Cooper Koch, son of Morton HS grad J.R. Koch, who played at Iowa from 1995-99, is also about 6'8", a couple inches shorter than his father. Unfortunately, since the fall high school basketball season was cancelled by the governor, they have not played yet for PND, except in a tournament in November, which they won. At 15 years old, it would be expected they might grow even taller, and no doubt will be highly recruited players in the future.

Going to dad's alma mater sounds like the right move, Lathan.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.
