  • Greenville University to play at Bradley Monday, Dec. 7?

Bradley has looking for another game early next week after St. Joseph's cancelled, and the South Dakota State game was moved to tomorrow.
So far, they have not reported any official agreement on another game.

However, today Division III Greenville University is now showing that they are playing Bradley on Monday, Dec.7, time TBA-

So maybe this is the new addition to the Bradley schedule?

Greenville is a Division III school, and a member of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. They just played a game at Illinois State yesterday (Wed., Dec 2), and ISU set numerous school records by beating them 177-108-

Greenville is known for their unique style of play. They plays 14 or 15 players in waves, and they press full court for 40 minutes, in addition to firing up shots, mostly 3-pointers, within the first few seconds of the shot clock. So far, they are 0-4, having played 4 Division I teams, and they have been annihilated in every game-

If Bradley plays Greenville, the players will rack up amazing stats. Illinois State scored 178 points, shot over 86% FG% for the game, scored 122 points in the paint (virtually all layups and dunks), scored 82 points on fast breaks, and had a team record of 57 assists in the game, since most passes lead directly to a layup. Most of the ISU players set personal highs for their production last night.

I hate this. I really don’t see how this helps in any way. iSU shot like 93 % on their 2 point Field goals against them.Their coach George Barber was an assistant at Bradley under MO before moving on to Greenville. I think we get more from a red white style scrimmage than this. Sorry to be negative. We should score 200.

I don't love it either, but Let the boys have fun. This isn't a year to nitpick the schedule. If coach thinks this will help us in some way, he should do it. My only concern is risk of injury, so I expect we may go all bench / newcomers. Let's see if our C squad can beat them.
      Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

I don't know if this game is finalized. The fact Bradley hasn't made an announcement yet, and the game details are labelled "TBA" on the Greenville schedule probably means there are details still to be worked out. And maybe it ends up falling through. But the coaches must see some advantage in playing a team like Greenville, as opposed to having nearly a 2 week gap in the schedule (the next game after Friday isn't until Dec. 17 vs. Jacksonville). It will allow the players, even the guys who wouldn't play much against a higher level team, to get playing time and pad their stats.

I just think this risks letting a certain level of sloppiness getting ingrained. We will be able to make sloppy passes without any ramifications since Greenville does not play any defense etc. yuck. Now I will shut up.

I'm excited to see if we can outdo our record setting results from the Judson game.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

They certainly could use it as a practice of sorts, playing against a trapping press. Additionally, a goal could be to hold them scoring under some number of points, say 90 for example.

                It’s not Greenville, relax.
