  • 3 MVC games Wednesday, Dec. 2

There are 3 MVC games today, Wednesday, Dec.2-
    https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...ard/_/group/18

Illinois State is running away from Greenville. It looks like Greenville's run and gun style of play doesn't work too well against bigger, more athletic D1 teams.-

With 10 minutes left in the game, ISU leads Greenville 128-75. ISU is shooting an unheard-of 87.9% from the floor (51-58 ) in a virtual layup drill.

Final score- Illinois State 177 Greenville 108
    Stats- http://stats.statbroadcast.com/statmonitr/?id=322575

ISU shot an amazing 86.4% for the game. They scored 122 points in the paint (nearly all layups) and had 82 fast break points, which has to be some kind of a record, too. ISU also had 57 assists for the game, which also has to be a team record.

The Division I NCAA record for Field Goal percentage for a game is 76.2% (32 of 42) by Vanderbilt vs. Alabama on 2/4/07.
I do not believe this ISU-Greenville game qualifies for the record book because Greenville is not Division I

In their first game of the season, SIU got a road win at SEMO tonight 87-79 in overtime.
SEMO had an 11 point lead going into the final 5 minutes, but poor clock management, taking shots early in the shot clock, along with ill advised shots and several turnovers and unnecessary fouls by SEMO allowed SIU to crawl back and tie the game. The in overtime, several of SEMO's key players fouled out and SIU pulled away to win. They are 1-0.
        SIU 87 SEMO 79

Evansville trailed at UT-Martin for all but the final seconds of regulation, then took the lead, but UT-Martin tied it on a 3-pointer with 1 second left and the game went to overtime tied 69-69.
The score went back and forth several times in OT, but ended up tied again at 77-77 and went to a 2nd OT.
That's when Evansville appeared to run out of gas and UT-Martin pulled away and won. Evansville drops to 0-3.
        UT-Martin 93 Evansville 87

Ummm ok. What is going on here? ISU shot all layups? How is that even possible unless there’s no defenders ever in the paint? Is there a way to rewatch this somehow?

You can stream it on demand from espn+
Im not sure what I’m looking at, but from what little I saw it didn’t seem like any way isu shot 86%. However there was a ton of fouling on the shot, so those don’t count as misses.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

I was watching the Live Stats feed for a short time during that game, and it was changing faster than the wheels of a slot machine.

HAHA! Right! That's crazy. I might go back and watch some of this just for kicks. This had to be pure craziness.

Watched the game. Greenville has all five guys in the backcourt pressing. When you get the ball past mid court, it’s an easy layup or a dunk. This just gives Greenville the ball back quickly so they can go down and shoot quickly! Fun for a few minutes to watch, but then gets hard to stay interested.
