Is there anyone left at the Journal Star? Last Sunday, Doug Finke wrote his last column and announced his buyout. He used to write about state politics. I appreciate Bradleyfans.com for keeping us fans informed.

Congrats Dave. Will definitely miss you on the BU beat. Hopefully you’ll be able to visit my father in law in Gulf Shores a little bit more now.

They are a shell of their former selves, Luciano is still there but who knows for how long. Gatehouse Media/Gannett who owns the Journal Star and many other local papers has been bleeding them dry as they have done for multiple newspapers around the country. They maximise short term profits in expense of long term viability. It is sad but the local newspaper is going away and companies like these are trying to squeeze every last dollar out while they can.

Good for Dave...had a good run and covering games from a computer has to take all the fun out of the job right now.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.
