This game was 100% what I expected. This looked like a game between two teams, a good team and a bad team, who have played 3 straight days. I think some might have expected Bradley to blow out Oakland, but that win is perfectly acceptable for a tired team rotating in some deeper bench players.

That being said, what a showing by Darius Hannah. I’m looking forward to seeing him putting on more weight and getting more playing time.

I can’t complain about that event. Bradley was a bad break away from winning all three games. Clean up some of the bad mistakes, practice some more free throws and I think we’re going to have a fun year.

Glad for the W'....but the T/O's must stop. IMO Hannah will surpass Mast as he has better hands and seems more ready for play right now.

I guess I shouldn’t say “good team vs bad team”. I think the better phrase would be “more talented vs less talented”

Yes, that was not a very well played game by Bradley. But the shots were falling and the opponent was not real strong, so Bradley was able to win 74-60.
          Stats-
          https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...meId=401257487

          The good-
Childs played well again, and lead the team in scoring (16 points, 8-14 shooting) for the 3rd straight game. He also had double digit rebounds with 10.
Bradley shot the ball much better- 29 of 56 for a 51.8% FG%
Bradley was 10-21 from three (47.6%)
Rebounding was OK, though not great considering Oakland doesn't have any good big men- Bradley 43 Oakland 37
Bradley lead from start to finish
          Nice defense overall
Kingsby had 8 points in 20 minutes and defended well
Nolan 9 points, 4 rebounds and good defense
East had 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists
Jayson Kent got 3 minutes of playing time and was 1-2 from three
McAdoo got his first BU points with a couple 3-pointers
Darius Hannah was impressive- 6-7;12 pts in 19 min.; a couple impressive dunks; & 8 rebs; looks like a young Elijah Childs.

          And the bad-
20 turnovers against a weak team that did not press at all
Oakland had 21 points off turnovers which kept them from getting blown out
Allowed Oakland to grab 13 offensive rebounds despite the fact they have no great rebounders and no good big men
WE make too many cross-court passes and high risk passes when they are not needed and wouldn't lead to a shot anyway
20 personal fouls- too many reach-ins
6-13 on free throws, but 5 misses were Hannah in his first college game.

But nice to return home for the next 5 games with a 2-1 record.
Next game vs. Judson next Tuesday on ESPN3.

I keep track on my phone watching stats and just now realized Henry did not dress for the game. Cannot believe I didn't catch that till now. Still think Hannah and Kent will work their way into the rotation.

Does anybody know if Henry is okay? Any news of why he didn’t play?

I agree Big Mike. Mast is struggling right now and also with the absence of Ja’Shon,Darius definitely took advantage of it. Needs to improve on his free throws but he has a huge upside. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think a few big schools were watching him including Wisconsin.’

I thought Mast looked solid yesterday, I like the idea of those two together in 2 yrs, maybe sooner. Just gotta clean it up alot.

Darius was on the radar of bigger schools when he averaged 15.5 ppg, 12.3 rpg, and 4.8 blocks per game, and displayed very good ball handling and defensive abilities his sophomore year. Bradley offered him in May of 2018, after his sophomore season. He then proceeded to have a terrific summer league after his sophomore year and started to get even more recruiting attention. However, at the start of his junior season he tore his ACL and missed virtually his entire junior season. Most of the colleges dropped off him. He returned to play summer ball after his junior year and was dominating. Recruiting services moved him back into their top 5 or 6 recruits in Wisconsin. He committed to Bradley in early October, 2019, before the start of his senior season, which was fortunate for Bradley, as he went on to have a great senior year and prove that he was recovered from his knee reconstruction.

Here were some of the comments about him following his comeback in the 2019 summer league circuit-

I think there is a very good chance that if he hadn't committed early to Bradley, he probably would have gotten some high major offers.

Note that Elijah Childs and Terry Nolan, Jr. were named to the All-Tournament team.

If you haven't seen it yet....go to the link above Bradley Braves site and half way down it shows the Hannah dunk...it is sick and should make sports centers top 10. He leaves from so far away and dunks over a larger man for a poster....watched it many times already.

Thanks Da Coach. I thought at one point I remembered him as one of the top recruits in Wisconsin but wasn’t sure where I saw it.
