MVC gets little respect, even from mid-major publication

MId-Major Madness is a website devoted to mid-major basketball. I've always found their articles interesting and fair. And, in most years, multiple MVC teams make their Top 25 rankings, and every year, MVC players make their Mid-Major All-American teams. This season's Mid-Major preseason Top-25 and Mid-major All-American teams are in the process of being posted one team at a time (to increase page-clicks and boost ad revenue). But, already it looks like the MVC is not getting any respect, even from Mid-Major Madness.

The top 4 teams are yet to be posted, but so far, there is not a single MVC team among their top teams #5-#25! It will be interesting to see if Loyola or UNI make their top 4 teams.

The 2019-20 MVC Player of the Year, and the consensus for 2020-21 preseason POY, A.J. Green only made the 3rd team! I'd love to see Elijah Childs and Cameron Krutwig get placed on their 2nd and 1st teams, but if the top player in the MVC only makes the 3rd team, they probably don't have any other MVC players listed.

Let's face it, most media and pundits are looking at rosters and stats and have no idea what the team really looks like on the court other than a cursory look at some highlights. Those of us that have seen BU playing and improving through the Wardle era know what we've got, and we understand that every recruiting class has been better than the last.

Being the underdog has played well for us, so I'm glad they continue to slight our boys. They can slight us all the way to the NCAA tournament.

In fairness Mid Major Madness did today name Loyola #3 and UNI #4. Also Krutwig was on second team. They have not named the first team but I would bet on AJ being there.

I am surprised they named Krutwig to the 2nd team when the returning MVC POY only made their 3rd team, but it's nice to see-

Just too bad they didn't think Bradley (2-time MVC Champions) or Elijah Childs (leading returning rebounder and 2nd leading returning scorer in MVC games) deserved recognition.

Oops I did not look back at the third team to note that they had already put AJ there. Agree that is a bit strange. Both are very good but I’d put AJ ahead of Krutwig.
