  • Ever Onward Initiative - no fans "at this time"

Season ticket holders (at least those who had already re-upped)... received notice today that fans will not be hosted at Carver or RenCol "at this time."
Options were given for refund, credit forward, or "donate."

Big blow to anyone who enjoys watching Bradley in person, and a continuation of a really disappointing year on planet earth.

Yeah, big fat no on donate.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

I should clarify that our main man, Dr. Chris Reynolds himself is the one making the appeal that we all donate:

      Bradley Season Ticket Holders,

Your steadfast loyalty over the years, and even now in the midst of this pandemic, is truly remarkable and is essential to our operation. This year has been marked by many unforeseen circumstances, and this continues to hold true for our men’s and women’s basketball programs. In accordance with state and local guidelines, we will not be able to host fans at Carver Arena or Renaissance Coliseum at this time. The atmosphere on game day will not be the same without your loud cheers and chants, but know that your enthusiasm for our programs does not go unnoticed and we will continue to do our best to engage you in new and novel ways this season.

Many have reached out to us to provide support during this very unique time and we certainly appreciate your investment in what we are doing and we know there are others out there who want to invest in us as well. Our pursuit for excellence in competition, in the classroom and in the community is at the core of who we are and what we do and we need your ongoing support to continue along this path.

With this in mind, I respectfully ask you to consider supporting our new Ever Onward Initiative by converting your 2020-2021 season ticket payment into a tax-deductible donation. Your investment in Bradley Athletics through a gift to the Ever Onward Initiative will help to mitigate the impact of the pandemic and reinforce areas such as academic support, career preparation, sports medicine, nutrition, and mental health services so that we can continue the powerful momentum that has enabled us to enjoy the most competitively successful five-year period in Bradley Athletics history. These focus areas are vital to the emotional and physical wellbeing of our student-athletes and consequently, to their success. We understand that these are very challenging times, and are grateful for your consideration.

Our Bradley Braves have never been ones to shy away from adversity, and we do not intend to start now. We know that with your help, we will come through this challenge stronger than ever before. Together, we will build on our foundation of excellence and continue to press onward for years to come.

      Go Braves!

      Chris Reynolds, PhD, JD
      Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics

Well, I consider it positive news that they will use Carver Arena. Firstly, because it enables our players to play consistently on our home court. It also implies that Bradley continues to see Carver Arena as our home into the future as well. Thirdly, if restrictions are softened yet this season, perhaps there's a chance some fans will be allowed in.... certainly a better chance in a larger building than in a smaller one.

I just talked to Nathan Bramwell, Bradley's Associate AD for Marketing and Tickets.
Those who opt for a refund can ask for a refund of the entire cost of tickets plus maintenance/Braves Club membership, or another option is to request refund for only the tickets, and keep your membership in the Braves Club.
But they very much appreciate if you choose to support Bradley by donating.

Maybe the season ticket holders could receive streaming of all home and away games. We know we will not see any games at the Bull Pen at Landmark.

                  Ever Onward.
Upon further reflection, I think this deserves another look.
After all, the Bradley Men's Basketball team has just delivered to us Back-To-Back conference tournament championships.

I am sure the games will be made available via live-streaming.
However, no announcement has been made yet about how that might be done this year.

The last couple years, most of the Bradley games were streamed on ESPN+, as were the majority of other MVC teams' games. I would not be unhappy if Bradley and the MVC made the same arrangements with ESPN+ again this year. The quality of video was excellent and the video stream was very reliable. ESPN+ is now $5.99 per month, which is $1 per month higher than it was last year.

The Xavier tourney games will be on FS1. Bradley is doing everything it can to make sure every game is available one way or the other. As far as the season ticket holders donating their ticket money to the men’s basketball team, it was money that was going to be spent anyway and Bradley needs every dime they can get to stay competitive through this pandemic. I hope that those that can afford to give their ticket money will think long and hard about what Bradley men’s basketball means to everyone. It’s a personal decision but Bradley needs all the help they can get right now.
