  • LSU head coach Will Wade investigated for impermissible payments to recruits

Will the NCAA finally come down on LSU and head coach Will Wade and others after more information of corruption comes to light?-
    https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...ecruits-others

The documents say the NCAA's enforcement staff received information that Wade "arranged for, offered and/or provided impermissible payments, including cash payments, to at least 11 men's basketball prospective student-athletes, their family members, individuals associated with the prospects and/or nonscholastic coaches in exchange for the prospects' enrollment at LSU."

"Many of those factors are triggered by the actions of Will Wade, head men's basketball coach at Louisiana State University," (NCAA vice president of enforcement) Duncan wrote. "Some of his underlying actions gave rise to this case and his tactics during the investigation have delayed resolution dramatically. He is employed in a leadership position at LSU, yet the institution has been unable to secure his full cooperation and is accountable for his behavior."

I love these quotes from Christian Dawkins, who was prosecuted by the FBI and spent 18 months in federal prison for wire fraud and bribery in the FBI "pay for play" investigation. He was referring to LSU head coach Will Wade.

"Just the audacity. You've got to take your hat off to him, man," Dawkins said. "He not only didn't get charged for anything, not only did the government have all of this information and evidence and nothing was happening on a criminal level, he also basically just said f--- you to the NCAA and the university he worked for ... and he still got to keep his job and make millions of dollars. It's like the perfect storm.

"Will Wade is definitely a f---ing gangster for what he did."

Honestly, I've said it before - I think our FBI has bigger problems than worrying about corruption in college sports. This is just another example of how government serves money.

Let the NCAA regulate and police their own rules is what I say.

That being said - yeah, big schools are not held to the same standard as the mid-majors, are they?

The federal government dislikes people not paying taxes. We have players and their agents receiving cash that should have been filing tax returns and paying taxes. I have to pay taxes.

Good point. I wonder why we haven't heard about the IRS filing tax fraud charges against some of these cases where recruits or their families were getting paid huge amounts.

I agree with you! In theory this is what is supposed to happen. It reality it does not. The NCAA is a farce. If anything should be defunded it should be them

                I second that.

LSU has received a notice of allegations related to potential violations in the men's basketball and football programs, a source told ESPN on Tuesday, with those involving the basketball program and coach Will Wade described by a source as significant.

LSU is being notified of violations in basketball and football by the NCAA. If these allegations lead to anything and LSU gets a postseason ban in basketball or Will Wade loses his job it may mean Adam Miller could move on again. Worth paying attention to.

Kinda like our government wanting to monitor our bank accounts on people with $600 or more in them. Talk about hypocrisy
