Keno Davis fired. Former Drake coach.
He coached Drake in 2007-08 when they went 28-5, won the MVC regular season and tournament, and played in the NCAA Tournament.
He's had some good years at CMU, but never made an NCAA Tournament appearance.

North Carolina is rumored to be down to 2 finalists for the head coaching job to replace Roy Williams- Assistant coach Hubert Davis and current UNC-Greensboro head coach Wes Miller. Both are graduates of North Carolina.
There are some who believe that Wes Miller has a slight advantage, since he has head coaching experience (at UNCG for 10 years) as well as stints as an assistant at 3 different D1 schools. He played under Roy Williams (2004-2007), but never worked under Williams at UNC.
There are also some who believe that Hubert Davis will be selected. He has a couple obvious positives, too. He is currently in the UNC program as an assistant coach under Roy Williams, he helped recruit many of the current players, and has worked closely with Roy Williams for the past 9 seasons. However, he has never been a head coach anywhere. He played at UNC (1988-1992), for Dean Smith.

Former Nebraska head coach Tim Miles is rumored to be the top choice to become the new head coach at San Jose State.
Recall that Jim Molinari was Miles' top assistant at Nebraska (2015-19). Miles and Molinari remain close friends. If Miles gets the SJSU job, maybe he'll give Jim a call?

[jwplayer jF5wU66N-sNi3MVSU] Familiar Mountain West name is the leader for SJSU job Contact/Follow @MWCwire Tim Miles could be the guy for SJSU I reported earlier that former Nebraska head coach an…
This is good news for SJSU and their basketball fans. Miles had similar success to Coach Wardle in building a winning program at Colorado State. He went 7-25 his first season, but then won 19 games in year 4, and 20 games in year 5 and went to the NCAA Tournament-
He had less success at Nebraska, going 116-114 in 7 seasons, and failing to make the NCAA Tournament his last 5 seasons there.
San Jose State has been one of the worst performing Division I programs for many years.
Here is their historical record- https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb...an-jose-state/
They have not had a winning conference record since the 1993-94 season, spanning 28 seasons in the Big West, the Western Athletic Conference, and the Mountain West Conference. It is a pretty good academic school, they have a beautiful campus, their football team was the undefeated champion of the Mountain West last year, their women's basketball team went 19-12, and 12-6 in the MWC in 2019-20 (their last full season), and their other sports generally do well. And SJSU will soon finish an all-new athletics facility that includes a new football stadium, plus state of the art training facilities for basketball and every other sport. So there is no logical reason that explains why their men's basketball program has been so bad for so many years, except for maybe repeated poor choices for head coaches. Good luck to Coach Miles. I think he can make a difference there.

Former Peoria Central and University of Illinois player, and assistant coach under Bill Self at Kansas for 8 years, Jerrance Howard, is leaving Kansas and will become an assistant under new coach Chris Beard at Texas.
Kansas basketball assistant coach Jerrance Howard is leaving KU for a spot on newly named Texas coach Chris Beard’s bench in Austin. KU coach Bill Self and Howard announced the news in a release Tuesday evening, bringing an end to Howard’s eight-year run with the Jayhawks. “Working for coach Self and being a part of […]
