Another tough break for Todd Lickliter and Evansville, but one that many expected, though it took longer than expected for him to announce it.
Star redshirt freshman DeAndre Williams, who averaged 15 ppg and 7 rpg in the 18 games he played before a back injury ended his season has announced he is transferring. He also says he will enter the 2020 NBA Draft.

Williams was one of Walter McCarty's first recruits in the spring of 2018 just after he was hired. He had several other good offers, including a couple high-majors (SMU, Houston, Oklahoma State, Baylor).

Several good players leaving the MVC this year, and from teams that weren't all that good. Indiana State and Evansville both lose their best players...seems like a BU, UNI, Loyola top 3 is pretty likely for next year depending on injuries etc.

SIU transfer Brendan Gooch is transferring to McKendree University, a Division II school in Lebanon, Illinois.
Drake transfer Antonio Pilipovic is transferring to High Point.

Illinois State loses another player. Ilijah Donnelly, a seldom used guard is transferring. He transferred to ISU after playing 2 seasons at Division II Illinois-Springfield. He sat out the 2018-19 season due to NCAA transfer rules. He played in only 6 games in 2019-20, a total of 21 minutes. He scored a total of 6 points on the season for an average of 1 ppg.
He initially came to ISU as a preferred walk-on, but there were reports that last season he was possibly on scholarship.

One other interesting development-
The MVC's leading scorer, A.J. Green of Northern Iowa, has entered his name into the NBA Draft. He has not hired an agent, which allows him to retain his college eligibility. And I feel confident he will eventually return to Northern Iowa.

Indiana State lost a player to transfer today, though most here probably don't remember him.
Blake Brinkmeyer, a 6'9" power forward who was a 2018 graduate from Valley HS West Des Moines, Iowa.

He played just 5 games his freshman season (2018-19) before an injury ended his season and he was granted a medical redshirt. Then in October, 2019, just before the 2019-20 season, he was placed on academic suspension. He never played a game this past season, and had been removed from the roster. He will transfer to Kirkwood Community College.

DeAndre Williams commits to Memphis.

He has a very good chance of getting a waiver to be eligible and play next season because the NCAA seems to favor players who missed all or most of the season due to medical issues (like Danya Kingsby).
