This is really a shame. Every year there are high school kids who stand out in the late rounds of the tournaments, and end up getting scholarship offers as a result of their play in sectionals, supersectionals, semifinals, and finals. A lot of those kids, especially in 3A and 4A won't get a chance now. Peoria Notre Dame had a legitimate chance to win a Class 3A state tournament. Connor Linke's team, St. Charles North looked like they had a good chance to make it downstate in Class 3A. And there is a lot of talent among the remaining 4A teams.
Interesting that the NJCAA just postponed the juco national tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas. Every year there are a bunch of kids who impress coaches enough at the juco nationals to get a scholarship, too. However, they tentatively plan to try to restart the tournament again on April 20, if possible.
