  • WEEK TV to have a segment mentioning Bradleyfans.com

In case anyone is interested, I was interviewed today (by phone) by multi-media journalist Alex Menke for a segment that is supposed to appear on WHOI-TV and WEEK TV about Bradley's MVC Championship and how Bradley fans are reacting to the Braves winning the 2020 MVC Championship. The interview will be edited and shortened, so I do not know exactly what their report will cover, but she was interested in how fans are feeling, what issues fans are talking about, and what concerns we have about the upcoming NCAA Tournament or the possibility of other schools seeking to interview our coach. And there were questions about how Bradleyfans.com was created, how many people visit the site, and what are the popular topics right now. But I suspect most of that will not make the final edit. I think it will air tonight, and the video will probably be posted on the WHOI and WEEK website.

You’re a real life celeb, Coach! And this should bring some much deserved attention to the forum. Best place for Bradley news!

Not really, nor do I want to be. But if it helps make a few fans aware of the site, I thought it would be worthwhile to do.
I actually don't appear in this segment, though some of the audio parts of the interview probably will. I've known Alex Menke for a long time. She's from West Peoria, has been working at WEEK/WHOI for several years and is a good reporter-

Yeah, good segment. Basically we are witnessing history... meaningful Bradley Basketball history.

I’ve got a fever, and the only prescription is more Bradley Basketball.

Haha Dub! I hear you! I don’t know how many times I’ve told my wife on the way home from games that I wish it was a double header tonight! Sometimes you just can’t get enough of it!

I’ve been a member of this board a long time. Great to see it get some mainstream recognition. I remember when I found it almost 15 years ago!!! It was an exciting time. Glad other people will get to share in the camaraderie and information sharing that comes along with it! We’ve been through a lot together. We’re on our 3rd coach, heading towards our 4th President and 3rd AD. The Sweet 16, the Geno debacle, and now the true renaissance of Bradley Basketball. Great work DC!

Yeah, 3342 I’ve got one for you, speaking of wives and marriage. I’ve been married nearly 20 years now, and at times I wondered (knew) my fandom could be a bit of a drain and cause me to be home less nights with the family, etc. However one year at the beginning of the season I must have been getting excited about some exhibition game coming up or something and she said something like: “I like you better during Bradley season. You seem more alive!” I’ve never forgotten that.

Great segment Da Coach! And welcome to all of the new members. You would think that after winning the championship again people might take a day off from here but with 17 different threads going today it once again shows the passion for Bradley basketball. It's an honor for me to be able to use my skills as a former play by play announcer and reporter during the in game thread in the chat room. I wish I could figure out a way to have posted the images I did on Facebook live right after the game before I had to get my wife home for a meeting. I had been told I could but unless someone has any ideas I won't be able to post it on here. In retrospect I wish I would have taken a couple of quick pictures before I had to go. I hope the regional site is close enough for me to be able to drive to watch and be able to report live on the action and hopefully post some pictures of our big upset!

Damn, "Da Coach" is aging better than me (45). I remember the hey day of the web site. back in the early oughts I told my wife to sign us up. She did. What cool name did you chose?............2Bradleyfans. Ummmmmmmm.

Yup. Coach has to keep track of a couple thousand members, I think I started getting un-PC maybe just kinda exasperated for awhile and so I chose to stop tracking and posting. Anyway for 80 you don't look a day past 40 "Da Coach".

Hey, I got a while to go before 80, Henry!

We had a pretty busy day on the website yesterday with hundreds of new fans checking the site out, thanks to the WEEK piece. There were more than 20 new fans who signed up and registered as members yesterday, while the usual might be only a few each week. And the page view count was the highest in a long time. I was beginning to believe we'd never get back to the numbers of fans we had before the Glasser/Cross disaster decimated Bradley, but these back-to-back championships are giving us hope again. Let's hope it translates into bigger and better crowds at Carver next year.

Anyway, for anyone who wants to revive an old account, or who has forgotten their password, just click on the Contact Us at the bottom of every page, and I'll get it fixed.
