  • ESPN Bracketology updated to include games of March 6- Bradley is a #14 seed

I know this doesn't mean much unless Bradley wins 2 more games, but Joe Lunardi of ESPN updated his NCAA Tournament bracket after Friday's games.
He now shows Bradley as a #14 seed playing in the Indianapolis Midwest Regional starting play in the St. Louis sub-Regional against first round opponent #3 seed Kentucky.

Oddly, he still has Northern Iowa in the tournament, now as an at-large team, also placed in the same St. Louis Regional, but as a #11 seed and as a play-in team vs. #11 seeded Arizona State. It is unusual because the NCAA almost never puts members of the same conference in the same bracket where they would meet each other in the 2nd round.

A theoretical Bradley-UNI matchup in the round of 32 would be hysterical!!

Heavens no! To fight and claw all year to get a shot at the big boys only to have to play one more game against your own conference? That would suck. I’d most likely travel for this if it happened and I don’t need to see another MVC matchup. I’ve been watching them all year!
Totally sounds like something the NCAA would do, though.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

MVC champion Northern Iowa (23-6, RPI 28 ) deserves to NOT be on the bubble. They just destroyed Drake 70-43 @ Drake, and were understandably flat facing the Bulldogs one week later (a team they had swept by a combined 37 points). If the NCAA doesn't take this into consideration it would be a travesty. Their NET dropped from 37 to 47 based on this ONE loss. Total BS.

Fun to see! Should Bradley get in, they will be a 13. Book it!

              THIS WOULD BE INTERESTING...

BUT FIRST BRADLEY MUST WIN BOTH TODAY (SATURDAY) and TOMORROW.

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A SECOND MVC TEAM IN THE NCAA - BUT I TRULY DO NOT SEE NORTHERN IOWA RECEIVING AN AT LARGE - THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER BUBBLE TEAMS THAT HAVE NOT - OR WILL NOT LOOSE SO SOUNDLY IN THEIR CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT QUARTER FINAL.

AND IF ANY MID-MAJOR FACES ANOTHER MID-MAJOR TEAM EARLY IN THE NCAA - THIS JUST
GOES TO SHOW WHAT THE NCAA WAS ACCUSED OF LAST YEAR. SETTING UP THE BRACKETS
SO THAT THE MID-MAJORS ARE QUICKLY ELIMINATED IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT.

That’s what I mean, Tommy. Just another jab at mid-majors.

We need to win two games first. I wonder if Bradley has any recruits at the game?

I don't think so. Most HS teams are competing in state tournaments now. And usually they don't have time to host a recruit here in the tournament. They'll do some official visits when they're done playing.

Here is what the ESPN bracket is showing-
                        bracket
They have Indiana in as an 11 seed! I am a fan of Indiana, but it makes no sense if they get an at-large bid. They are 19-12 overall, and only 9-11 in the Big Ten. Their NET is 60.
Big Ten Conference Standings for Men's College Basketball with division standings, games back, team RPI, streaks, and conference RPI

That is the 12th best NET in the Big Ten. Only Northwestern and Nebraska have worse NETs. They have 10 Big Ten teams in the tournament, and have Purdue with a NET of 33 OUT.
Here is the complete ESPN projected bracket-

And, note that they have now dropped UNI out of the tournament. The are 25-6 with a NET of 48-
Missouri Valley Conference Standings for Men's College Basketball with division standings, games back, team RPI, streaks, and conference RPI
