Another terrific game. This team saves its best for last, and advances to another championship game.
          Final stats

Darrell Brown was on a mission to prove to everyone that he belonged on the first team All MVC. He finished with 25 points and NO turnovers! And all 4 other starters also finished in double digits. The team only had 7 turnovers for the game.

Let's bring back another trophy tomorrow!

Onward! To the championship game baby! Just so proud of their effort. DB was awesome on offense in the first half and helped close it out on defense in the 2nd half. Koch and Ari played great and I think wore down Robbins in the second half. This might have been Nate’s best ever game on defense. The second half we took some quick shots that we didn’t need to and it helped them back into the game. But once again we found a will and a way to win. 3rd game in 3 days against a real solid team should make for another tough hard game but I have every confidence that we will find a way to win. Congrats on the win boys! 1 more win and it’ll be time again to put on our dancin shoes! Let’s do this! GET ER DONE!

                  Now that is impressive

From the Missouri Valley Web Site - another historical first MVC Tournament mark is again achieved - this time by Valpo.

MVC TOURNAMENT NOTES The Valparaiso Crusaders advance to the MVC Tournament championship game for the first time in their three years as member of the MVC. Valparaiso also becomes the first No. 7 seed to advance to the championship.No. 7 seeds own a 20-43 in MVC Tournament history, including an 18-29 mark in St. Louis. Valparaiso improves its MVC Tournament record to 4-2 including a 1- 1 mark against Missouri State.

                  https://mvc-sports.com/news/2020/3/7...-state-82.aspx

With all the previous comments and post - it is safe to say that no 8, 9, or 10 seed has ever made it to the MVC Tournament Championship.

Valpo playing their 4th game in 4 days..... it will definitely be interesting come the second half of the Bradley - Valpo game.

                  GO BRAVES !!!

I messaged Da Coach and maybe he will mention it for the Next Game post.... this is the FIRST time two PRIVATE schools in the MVC meet in the final of the MVC Tourney since.... 1999 when #1 seed Evansville was beaten by #2 Creighton. (correct me if I am wrong)

That is correct! It has only happened 4 times that 2 private schools met in the championship game of the MVC Tournament since the tournament began in 1977, but none since 1999 (until tomorrow's game).
In 1984, Tulsa and Creighton played for the championship in Tulsa. Tulsa won 70-68 in overtime.
In 1986, it was Tulsa and Bradley (Jim Les, Hersey Hawkins, et.al.) in Tulsa, and Tulsa won 74-68.
Those were back when the games were played in the schools' arenas.
And since the tournament started in St. Louis in 1991-
In 1996 when Tulsa (in their final year in the MVC) beat Bradley 60-46 in the relatively new Kiel Arena (later re-named Savvis Center, Scottrade Center, and Enterprise Center)...
The 1999 as you mentioned when Creighton beat Evansville 70-61 in the Kiel Center.

Here are all the past finals matchups, and results-

                          Game recap-
St. Louis – The Bradley men's basketball team is headed to its second-straight Missouri Valley Conference Championship, leading nearly wire-to-wire in a 76-66 semifinal victory against Drake on Saturday afternoon. The Braves improve to 22-11 with the win, while the Bulldogs end their quest for a NCAA Tournament bid with a 20-14 mark.

So Vermont from the American East conference gets a 12 seed and the MVC champ is looking at a 14? Someone help me understand that reasoning.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

THANK YOU!!! I did the 1-week trial for Fubo. It was a little blurry at times and cut out for 4-5 minutes in 1st half, but worth it just to see that game yesterday!
