Drake beat Illinois State on Friday, and upset UNI on Saturday to become only the second play-in team to ever advance to the semifinal round (Valparaiso became the third Saturday night by beating Loyola). Bradley beat SIU 64-59 on Friday to advance.

Feelin good about this game. For once we seem to have caught a fortunate tradewind in this tournament, avoiding MSU by means of a loss on senior day, and avoiding UNI by means of an upset. If we can contain Robbins we might be ok.

The two teams that won their play-in games Thursday did very well Friday to say the least. I think it helps to get a game under your belt, making you more comfortable with the environment/rims/nerves etc. the next day. Valpo might not have anything left in the tank today, they expended a tremendous amount of energy to shock Loyola. Drake's easy blowout win shouldn't have any negative impact against us, IMO. I hope we play better today offensively.

When , if ever, have we seen the top 3 seeds in the MVC tournament go down in the opening round? As my son, a Drake grad, stated this year the tournament really is Arch Madness. What we have remaining are seeds 4,6,7,8. The Braves have a real shot at winning.
