Any updates on DLO or Luuk?

Luuk is not playing anywhere as he rehabs from a torn achilles he suffered shortly after the end of last season. He was planning on playing pro ball next season.

Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye has been playing in Italy for Bergamo Basket. They have not had a very good season, and are just 4-19 in their league. DLO has not played for them since January 4, and has missed their last 7 games, but he is still listed on their roster. My guess is that he has either been injured, or has possibly taken a leave to go back home to play with his UK National team, but I cannot find any reports to verify.
I notice about the time DLO stopped appearing in the box scores, Bergamo signed another American player who has taken DLO's place in the lineup.
DLO had been a starter in the team's first 16 games, and was averaging 14.9 ppg, 4.9 rpg, and 3.1 apg.

Does DLo count as an American player? I know many leagues have rules about the number of Americans they can have on their teams, usually one or two. Usually when I read about those situations, it is specific to an American playing somewhere like Australia or China or the Philippines so I haven’t noticed them specifying if any foreign player counts or just Americans. I would think European leagues wouldn’t have rules limiting the number of Europeans they have on their teams, except now England isn’t part of the European Union thanks to brexit. There are many questions just now dawning on me.

No, DLO would not count as a US player. His citizenship is with Great Britain.
Their roster page shows him with the flag of Great Britain.

Which leads into the next question: is it one American per roster or one foreign player per roster? Are the rules in this Italian league more inclusionary towards other Europeans? Do British citizens get any of those privileges now that they’ve exited the European Union? I know you may not know, it’s just a whole can of worms I hadn’t even considered before tonight.

Every country and every league have different rules governing foreigners, but the common thread is that they all have limits on how many American players are allowed. Most allow 2 or 3. That means players like DLO and Luuk have extra value. They have competed at the D1 college level and have the advantage of higher skill levels, but are not Americans, so they can be added to rosters and not count toward the limit of Americans.

Update on Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye- After a successful season with Bergamo in Italy, which was cut short because of the Covid-19 crisis, DLO has signed for this season (his second pro season) with Poitiers Basket 86 of the French Pro B League.
Their regular season doesn't start until October 9, but they have already played a couple preseason games

Today, DLO started and had 19 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals in just 23 minutes in a preseason exhibition game against Limoges of the higher Pro A League.
Pour son 2ème match de préparation, le PB s'incline à Limoges 94-70. Après avoir bien tenu la 1ère mi-temps, les joueurs de Jérôme Navier ont subi la puissance limousine dans le 3ème QT.

Here is a full video of the game. DLO is #12 in the black uniform.

In his team's other preseason game against Bouzalac Basket, also of the Pro A League, DLO had a team-leading 20 points & 4 rebounds in 24 minutes of play-
Score final : 88 - 67

In his team's 2 preseason games, DLO is averaging 23.5 minutes, 19.5 ppg, and 3.0 rpg and he is shooting 50% on 2-pointers (7-14), 55% on 3-pointers (6-11), and 78% on FTs (7-9).

Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye continues to have a terrific season in his 2nd year of pro ball. He had a great season last year with Bergamo in Italy, and was their leading scorer, before his season was cut short by the Covid pandemic, and DLO left the team and returned to the US. This season, he is playing for Poitiers Basket 86 of the French Pro B League. He scored 20 points in their game today against Nantes in a tournament called the Leaders Cup Tournament. Unfortunately, Poitiers Basket 86 lost 64-62.

Is DLO a US citizen now or did he return to the UK, not the US? I really love that guy. Had a chance to meet and speak with him on selection Sunday and he was incredibly nice and fun to talk to. Just wondering if he's in the US, whereabouts he's at? Peoria area?

DLO is a British citizen and does not have US citizenship. He's playing in Poitiers, France, but last I heard, he had moved back to his home country of England.

                        Update on Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye-
DLO is playing this season for Udine, an Italian pro team in the A2 league located in northeast Italy between Venice and the Alps.

They are playing in a preseason tournament, the A2 Supercup, and DLO has helped lead Udine to the Final 8-
