Not enough senior leadership right now. Hopefully it shows up soon.

Koch Bar had a pretty good game. 9 points and 11 rebounds. No turnovers in the 2nd half.

Elijah Child's had another great game- team-leading 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists, and played great defense inside.

Ja'Shon Henry was really tough! He had 12 points and 6 rebounds and also was great on defense.

Nate was raining threes in the first half, and though he didn't score much in the 2nd half, he played well. He had 13 points, 3 rebounds, and a couple nice assists.

Ville, Danya, and DB also played great.

A great road win in a tough place to win!

                TOTALLY AGREE ...

But it was like watching 2 different half games. The first half was really impressive. The second half - the Salukis showed their grit.
What a GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE for the entire team and a true confidence builder.

Interesting how Nate (for example) did not attempt any second half 3s. And Barr played a pretty good game - is that why Boya did
not get as many minutes ? (Who knows)

I hope that the MVC Tournament Bracket keeps these Salukis away from our Braves until the final game. They will definitely have a
chip on their shoulder if they play the Braves.

BRADLEY FANS and PEOPLE OF PEORIA and CENTRAL ILLINOIS - there are only 2 remaining home games. Go Watch these Braves in person - they are fun to watch - I would but I live in Colorado.

                GO BRAVES !!!

Love to see a W in Carbondale and a season sweep on an upper tier team! Bar has to be ready to catch short passes and dump offs in the block, or they need to stop passing it there. Good D tho. Great to see Darrell with essentially a game winner. Stay healthy and we’ve got a serious chance in StL. Like the TV postgame analyst said: history may be repeating itself.

Nice win on the road in a tough place to play. Could have folded at the end but instead held our composure and hit some big shots to win! With Elijah back now everyone seems to playing with so much more confidence. Getting close to tournament time and I’m having a pretty good feeling about this team! Go Braves!

BW said after the game that SIU played a smaller lineup in the 2nd half and that's what kept Boya out, though I'm sure it didn't hurt that Bar was having a pretty great game.

KillerB and Coach - pretty jealous that I wasn't there with you today. How was the atmosphere? It looked pretty great on tv, and I'll bet it was fun to be on the winning end of things with that crowd!

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

I never heard an attendance but maybe around 6,000. It got pretty loud in the 2ND half

Good guess KillerB! ESPN reports it at 5766.

Yes, the official attendance was 5,766

And the answer about why Ari didn't play is correct. Coach Wardle said on his post-game radio show that when SIU made their run to get back into the game, he felt it was partly because their smaller lineup was hurting us, so he tried to counter with a smaller lineup.
Koch Bar only played 13 minutes in the 2nd half, so there were 7 minutes when we played without a center, and I thought we played very well in that time with Childs and Henry, along with a mix of Brown, Kingsby, Ville, and Kennell.

Tommy, wish you were there. There were not many Bradley fans. The SIU fans are great. They have suffered through several years without winning as much as they were used to in the early 2000's. But of course, they were disappointed with the loss. But from talking to a few of their fans, they are happy with how things are going with some good young players.

Sorry I didn't get to meet up with you, KillerB

I notice Ari was not credited with any blocks in the box score. But I clearly remembered him getting at least one block when he was in there in the first half.
Here is proof.... check out the short video on this page-

Just after the 30-second mark the video shows Ari blocking a short shot by SIU's #2 Karrington Davis. It's not the first time I have noticed players getting shorted on blocks. Maybe it's a tough stat for the stats crew to keep up with?
