The Dogs have a chance to show how much bite they have in the conference race as SIU hosts Loyola. They have some good young players and Mullens has them believing.

I smell upsets in Cedar Falls and Carbondale. Both UNI and LU-C coming off that heavyweight bout on Sunday, are ripe for an upset. BU needs to handle Valpo and let's make this log jam a bit more complicated. It would certainly make Saturday even more intense than it already is.

            UNI clobbered Missouri State.
            And Bradley wins.
            ILSU leads Evansville.
And SIU has taken the lead against Loyola.

SIU (12-10) knocks off Loyola 68-63 at SIU. Full building at SIU with large student section. Meanwhile defending MVC tourney champ and NCAA qualifier Bradley (14-7) plays in front of a pathetic crowd with no student section. Wake up Peoria and Bradley students! No more excuses!

Through 01-26, BU was leading the conference in attendance with an average attendance of 5335 and the next closest team was Drake with an average of 3843.

Today's attendance was 5038 for us tonight and the SIU game was listed at 4912, so I think we did better than you think. I think the size of our arena makes it deceiving when compared to the much smaller venues of the rest of the valley.

I hear your pain, though. We all want to see the packed arenas again, but we are still trying to recover from the Geno/Glasser years. We may never fully recover.

Tommy, I watched the 2nd half of the SIU game. That building holds 9,300. It was almost full and hundreds of students behind the basket. Something isn't right.

                    MVC Standings after 9 games-
                    standings-1-29

As of now, Bryan Mullins would probably be the Coach of the Year. SIU was picked a distant last in the preseason poll-
For the second time in three seasons, Missouri State has been tabbed by a voting panel consisting of coaches, sports information directors and media as the team to beat in the Missouri Valley Conference men’s basketball race.

And they have had some major injury problems including their top player Aaron Cook out for the season, and he only played 6 games.

And the other big surprise is Missouri State. Virtually everyone picked them #1 in the preseason poll. Tonight they were absolutely embarrassed by UNI, and are now competing for a spot in the Thursday night games in St. Louis.

You very well could be right. I didn't see the game, but the ESPN+ app shows the capacity as 8284 and the attendance at 4912, but maybe that will change by tomorrow.

SIU had a special cancer blackout promotion for tonight's game. In addition to discounted tickets, the players wore special black uniforms. They had previously held an auction for fans to choose a name for the back of the jersey they bid on (either their own name or the name of a loved one), and they got to keep the jerseys after the game.
Winners of eight-straight home games, the SIU men's basketball team hosts Loyola on Wednesday night at Banterra Center. Tip is set for 7 p.m., and the game w...

Wishful thinking. Hey the Braves held and at least I got the one in Carbondale right.

I did not see the SIU game, but keep in my they have roughly double the enrollment that Bradley does. That being said Student attendance has long been a problem.

You sure did get the SIU game right! And I will admit, I thought you were nuts when you said it!
