  • Emergence of BU players - 2020

Very pleased with what I've seen in league play with Ville.
And now Ari has ARRIVED (hopefully), after a monster 1st half/game on the road.

I know we'll greatly miss seeing Nate and Darrell after this season, but our 2 freshmen, 2 sophs (Ari and Ja'shon) give me hope for the next 2-3 seasons.

The injury bug has been frustrating for the team and us loyal Braves fans, but may be a blessing in disguise, giving some guys with limited minutes a chance to grow up fast.

Ari certainly has looked like a man among boys lately, and most evident is his confidence level...something that Koch never really had until this season.

    Go Braves!!!

The health issue has obviously been a huge factor for our team this year. Not considering Mast’s preseason injury (who I think is going to be an impact player for us one day), the Child’s and Brown injuries cannot be understated.... and I sincerely hope Ville can keep the germs to himself and will not infected our locker room.

I believe Childs’ surgery was on or about 1/8, so by this Wednesday it will only have been 3 weeks... the longest-feeling 3 weeks in history. Several TV commentators have said Childs is out for the season, which I do not believe has been decided nor communicated by our staff.

I commend the toughness of our players and the quality of our staff for keeping our squad competitive and/or victorious so far throughout this time of health trials.

In spite of all this, by no means are we out of contention at this point. Regardless where we finish, we have a real shot to come together by conference tournament time and defend our title.

Any health updates from you insiders would be welcome.

    Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

You are right. He is not "out for the season". He is expected to get his cast off in the next week or two, and it is hoped he can return to playing some time around the second or third week of February.

He initially injured the hand in the December 15 game against Georgia Southern. He then missed the next 3 games (Miami, Toledo, & Drake), and returned and played in the January 4 game at UNI. It was in that game that he re-injured the hand, and he had surgery a few days later. He has now missed 6 more games (Evansville, SIU, Missouri State, UNI, ILSU, and INSU).
Just guessing, I think he will probably miss 4 to 6 more games at least. I hope I am wrong.

On top of the 4 underclassman playing well, we have 2 redshirt transfers who were solid players at their last stop. The start of next year is still a long ways off and a lot can change, but we should be a contender for regular season valley champs.
        Gotta stop feeding the trolls.

The future is looking bright. This season might not be turning out like I imagined but I guess the silver lining is that we are getting our younger guys some good experience. Lets get everyone back healthy for Arch Madness and see what we can do.

Before we get all despondent about this year’s regular season-remember with significant injuries we are 1 game out of first place.

Another big development ... Danya Kingsby has done a fantastic job running the point without DB and really elevated his game. I am now far less concerned about the PG position next year. Kevin McAdoo also looked good running the point at Eastern Michigan and Antonio Thomas keeps improving. Can never have enough ball handlers.

Congratulations to Danya Kingsby! He was just named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

His 4.00 cumulative grade point average is very impressive!
