UNI came back from an 18 point 2nd half deficit to close within 1 points, and UNI had a final shot to win the game. But A.J. Green missed the shot, and then fouled SIU as the final buzzer sounded. SIU's Eric McGill made one free throw to make the final score
SIU 68 UNI 66

Just an average game for A.J. Green, 16 points (wish he could have had only 16 against Bradley )

UNI's NET dropped from 36 prior to their game at SIU last night to 51 today. NET of 51 for a mid-major is not likely to get an at-large bid. But a lot can still happen over the final 12-14 games,
They would probably still get an at-large if they win out from here. That would probably drop their NET back into the mid to low 30's. But that means they can't afford any more losses. They might be able to withstand one or two losses, but they would have to be to the better MVC teams like Loyola (NET 98 ), and even then it would depend on factors out of their control, like how many conference tournament upsets happen that put undeserving teams into the tournament and gobble up the very few at-large bids available to mid-major teams.
Each loss drops their chances down lower and lower.

Unfortunately, though the MVC is better than last season (their conference NET ranked 14th last year), it is still not great. The MVC rank this season is 11th, and that is not likely to change through the rest of the season.
Not often does any team from a conference that ranks lower than 10th get more than 1 bid.
