Very good crowd considering the weather. Hope the SIU player’s injury is not too serious; he looked like he was in a lot of pain. Outstanding defense, especially during the second half! Ja’Shon has really stepped-up and played well at both ends. Koch Bar’s 5 blocked shots, was that a career high? Congratulations to the coaches on preparing and motivating this seriously understaffed team. Win or lose, the players’ effort is outstanding and greatly appreciated! This team is really fun to watch!

The other horrible technical foul call I remember (does anyone else remember?) was back in 2010 when Jim Les stomped his foot and yelled at Will Egolf to try to get his attention after he missed a shot. A Missouri Valley ref who was looking the other way and did not see what happened, simply heard the foot stop, mistakenly assumed it was Jim Les reacting to no foul being called on the play, and whistled a technical foul on Jim. Despite Jim pleading his case and informing the ref that he was trying to signal Will Egolf and that the ref was completely mistaken, he refused to reverse his laughable call.

Good memory! I was at that game, and man, I did love the way Les would get on the refs when they did something reprehensible. That was the worst T of all time!

Wow, that is a freak injury for basketball. It is tragic for Dembele, who had already redshirted last year, and Saturday's game was the 10th game he played in this season. Athletes are usually only allowed one redshirt year in their college careers, so he'd have to appeal to the NCAA and hope for a waiver. But 10 games is one too many to qualify for a redshirt year anyway. However, the NCAA has shown more leniency in recent years, I wish him good luck.
Recall that both Will Egolf and Sam Singh were granted a 6th year because they each lost 2 seasons with knee injuries.

Will Egolf was so good. Those injuries were devastating to the team.
Injuries were a real problem for Les the last 3-4 years he coached here. He always seemed to have a competitive team regardless.

It was crazy because when it initially happened, I though they just bumped knees. However, based on the amount of pain he was in I thought something freak must have occurred.

It seemed like there were more fans at the start of 2nd half than halfway thru the 1st half.
Decent attendance, though I expected 7,000+ even with the snow, but I guess some fans are not die-hard like us.

My bad...just looked it up. We were up 11 with 2:30 to play (seemed like 1:30 to me, as ISU just came back so fast!).
Still, crazy how we lost that lead after a strong overall game, but that season was one to forget anyhow. Started 0-11 in the conference before beating the Jays in the infamous BLIZZARD mid-week afternoon game.
