SIU has played without Aaron Cook (15.0 ppg in just 6 games), their leader in scoring, assists, and steals since he broke a bone in his hand Nov. 19 in a game at Murray State. He was projected to be out 4 to 6 weeks, but it has now been 7+ weeks and he has not played again yet. He is said to be close to returning, but there is no official word if he will be ready to play Saturday against Bradley.
In his absence, their starters for most games have been 6'2" senior guard Eric McGill (9.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg), 6'10" senior center Senior Barrett Benson (10.1 ppg, 5.3 rpg), 6'1" freshman guard Lance Jones (6.0 ppg, 3.0 assists/game), 6'6" grad-transfer guard Ronnie Suggs (5.9 ppg), and the leading candidate for Freshman of the Year 6'6" forward Marcus Domask (15.0 ppg).

It would be nice to get a big crowd for this next game at home. This team really deserves it. They have played pretty well considering a lot of adversity in the last few weeks!

My friend and I are making annual trip to Peoria for this one, from Chicago!

Looking forward to making it 14-straight at home! I really want it to get to 20...haven't seen that as Braves fans in 25+ years at least!

Does anyone know the last season we started 3-1 in Valley play?
I am thinking you have to go all the way back to like 1997, but there could have been a season I forgot about between now and then.

        Go BU!!!

I have a feeling we'll be looking at the standings with excitement during league play this season...kinda feels like 1996 again! (Well, maybe we're not as good as that great team, but we're not too shabby if we get Childs back!)

I just took a look and it appears that it was 2008-2009 when we started 4-0 with wins vs. SIU, @Wichita St., @Missouri State, and vs. Illinois St.

Am I having a rough new year or are you having one. Does your title say ‘December’?

LongTimeFan, game is a ways off, so plenty of time to plan to attend.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

If true, Eli should be well healed by then!

Thanks to the couple fans who notified me that I made an error in my initial post regarding the date of this next game against SIU.
It is this coming Saturday, January 11, at 7:00 pm. I was in a bit too much of a hurry when I posted the message last night, plus I might be getting senile.

Whereas I will be in attendance with bells and whistles on, it looks as though the weather may put a damper on any type of bonus attendance figure on Sat night. But who knows... maybe people will suck it up and cone on out. People: SUCK IT UP for BRADLEY!

Was that the season we played in the CIT and lost to ODU in the Finals? (with Theron, CR, and Sammy Man)

2009 was when CR hit the 74-foot desperation heave at the buzzer I think!
Last "fun" season until recently in the Wardle era.
