Outstanding win on the road! Thought we had a chance to win but blowing them out? Great defense and for the most part good decision making! Now let’s take it to SIU on Saturday night!
Evansville was lost without their top scorer/ rebounder tonight and Bradley played like the home team. Henry is my favorite Brave, just love everything about his game. Let's keep it going!
As Stone Cold Steve Austin says, "OH HELL YA!" With no Eli to win games will require effort like this. Movement on defense without fouling. Getting after it on the boards. Taking advantage of turnovers. Converting fast breaks. Making FT's. Basically doing the little things that you have to do to win games especially when you don't have much margin for error(I. E. your #1 player is hurt). When Evansville made their run in the 2nd half because we lost our focus for a bit Coach Wardle took a timeout and got the guys back on track and it was game over. Nate could be playing himself into MVC 1st team consideration. This is an enjoyable and fun team to watch. Can we PLEASE get our biggest crowd of the year on Saturday night against SIU? These kids deserve it!
Evansville, Ind. – The Bradley men's basketball team scored the first nine points and never looked back, cruising to a 72-52 victory at Evansville on Wednesday night. The Braves improve to 11-5 and 2-1 in Missouri Valley Conference action, while the Purple Aces slip to 9-7 and 0-3 versus league foes.
Great win! My son played ball thru Jr College and I preached to him that not every night your team will shoot 50 percent. But every night there is no excuse not to play good defense. Defense comes from the heart, He's coaching high school basketball now. Now lets go out and beat those SIU dogs!
I absolutely love Henry's effort tonight and he was critical in increasing the lead when Evansville cut it to 12. His ups are incredible!
great job guys!
Jayshon is quickly becoming my favorite Brave!
I remember halfway thru the season last year I made a comment on here that I'm not that impressed by Henry. Boy, my impression has come a loooooong way!
He is just so tough to guard down low 1-on-1. And yes, his ups are incredible!
I said it before the season began that DB Jr, Kennell, Childs, and Henry will be guys we remember for decades as BU fans!
I agree.... when we play teams that do not have superior size or athleticism inside, we need to adjust our usual game plan and get the ball inside to Ja'Shon more. He has a high efficiency getting the ball in the basket or drawing a foul. With DeAndre Williams out last night, it worked to our advantage. I think he can be effective against SIU, too, since they lack height and athleticism other than Barrett Benson, who will probably be matched against Koch Bar, not Henry.
We played very well. One things I really wished we had was a big that could make plays and score in the paint. I was really hoping Koch could develop some moves over his 4 years but he hasn't really. Either him or Ari should have dominated this game due to their size advantage. Not trying to knock them, Koch has progressed a lot in other aspects in his time here but not so much in scoring. He has shown some great flashes at the beginning of this season and last years but nothing sustained. I will say though his rebounding this year has been great.
