  • What happened to the sound system?

Our seats are in the lower bowl of Section 24 and we are unable to understand anything that is said over the speaker system. Anyone else experiencing this? Who can we contact to address the issue?

Didn’t notice anything different with the sound last night Jim. We are in sec. 16 behind the bench...

I am in Section 14, near the floor, and although I was able to make out what the PA announcer said, it was not as clear and distinct as in the past. I couldn't tell if it was a volume difference, or something else different with the speakers.

I sit in sec10 lower bowl. To me the sound is always somewhat muffled in the lower bowl. The PA guy Paul Herzog is understandable. The verbal audio that plays during the starting lineup video is completely unintelligible. The new “emcee” announcer who sits by the band and announces the little promos, dance cam, etc is not very understandable to me. I have not noticed any recent changes, and feel it has been consistent from the beginning of the season.

Thanks for the responses. The sound quality has been progressively getting worse for the last few games. As an example, last night when Paul Herzog was telling the fans about the veteran at center court none of the six of us sitting in our seats (rows 3 and 4) had any idea what he was saying. I sent an email to the Peoria Civic Center Customer Support, explained our issue and asked for their assistance. Hopefully they can help.

I also think the sound system is terrible, or at least the input settings are off.

The “hype” video before the games is awful, as is the starting lineup video.

Down at fort Myers tho, when they played these same 2 videos I could hear everything crystal clear...

The civic center should be able to figure this out..., I don’t get it

Agreed on the starting line up video. Phil Collins’s In The Air Tonight does little, in my opinion, to get the crowd up. Actually The Who’s video, which plays prior, seems to do a better job.

I can't hear anything said in the Phil Collins's video from where I sit.

Go back to the old days. Play the BU fight song and give the lineup. Too much and too long nonsense music.

I kinda liked when they played Sandman.

I kinda like the music too Tommy. Anyone know the song they play before tipoff?

It’s a Seven Nations Army chant. Very common across college basketball and football games. I actually liked Danzel’s Put Your Hands Up in the Air...it was kind of unique. This year’s intro sequence just doesn’t seem to get the crowd into it before tip off.

The sound system is bad at Carver. Just went to an Illini game and there is a significant difference in sound quality. IMO, enhancements to the sound system would make the fan experience a lot better.

Isn't the sound system like 20+ years old? It's a bit long in the tooth...

They talked about needing to replace it in 2013! Maybe 2020 is the year.
