I went to this game with a friend who is an SIU grad. This is the second time I have seen them in person, I also saw their game against San Francisco.

As far as SIU, they have 2 very nice freshman pieces. Marcus Domask is a very intelligent player and does all the little things you want a player to do. He can score, rebound, knows how to double down in the post. He can drive the ball.. play with his back to the basket.. as well as shoot the 3. He's an impressive freshman.

At guard Lance Jones also looks like a very good player. Jones appears very athletic. He can drive and create his own shots and made a couple of really nice passes.

Those are two good pieces to build around.
If you look at the 60 points SIU scored yesterday, 51 came from 3 players. Domask 21, Jones 14 and the Northwestern Grad Transfer Benson had 16. He can play in The Valley although he completely disappeared after picking up his 3rd foul. The Billikens almost scored at will inside after that foul. SIU has no one with height behind him. Brednon Gooch seemed to be the next man up at the 5 and he's only 6'5". Offensively no one else showed anything. Maybe some of the others will develop. But right now past those 3 there is not much.

The Salukis played decent defense overall (which I assume Mullin will demand) and lead for most of the first and the start of the 2nd half before running out of gas

On a side note, SLU's Chaifetz Arena is a good place to watch a game.
My scouting report for what it's worth..
