    Schedule/results- https://nusports.com/sports/mens-bas...hedule/2019-20

Northwestern has had the same starting 5 in all four of their games. Their best player and leading scorer is 6'10" sophomore forward Pete Nance, who is the son of former NBA star Larry Nance, and the younger brother of current Cleveland Cavaliers player Larry Nance, Jr., who was once a Bradley recruit, and visited Bradley when Geno Ford was head coach. He averages 15.3 ppg and 9.0 rpg. Their other 4 starters are 6'7" sophomore Miller Kopp (11.8 ppg), 6'10", 235 pound redshirt center Ryan Young (11.5 ppg), 6'3" grad student guard who was a scholarship LaCrosse player (4-time All-American!) who did not play basketball at Loyola-Maryland Pat Spencer (7.5 ppg), and 6'4" junior guard Anthony Gaines (6.5 ppg). They get very little production from their bench. Northwestern is about the worst 3-point shooting team in the country. As a team, they shoot only 22.7% from three. That ranks 349th out of 353 teams in Division I. They don't take many threes. They are 17-75 on the season (through 4 games)-

    Stats- https://s3.amazonaws.com/sidearm.sit...tats_11_22.pdf

Their top 3 scorers are their 3 forwards/big men. Nance, Kopp, and Young all average double figures. They do not get much scoring from their guards. Guard Pat Spencer averages 7.5 ppg and he shoots 11% from three. Guard Anthony Gaines averages 6.5 ppg and shoots 16.7% from three. That might be the worst perimeter shooting pair of starting guards in the country. Their top 2 reserves (6'9" forward Robbie Beran- 4.8 ppg and 6'2" guard Boo Buie- 4.0 ppg) are both freshmen.

    Roster- https://nusports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster

Northwestern has been picked by virtually everyone to finish last in the 14-team Big Ten. They lost their top 2 scorers and much of their production from last year's team which finished 13-19 overall and 4-16 and dead last in the Big Ten last season (2018-19).
This is Head Coach Chris Collins' 7th season at Northwestern. He has had only 1 winning Big Ten season so far.

Bradley is only 1-8 all-time against Northwestern, but the Braves do have a 1-game winning streak. The last time they played was 11/30/1985, and Bradley won 76-72. Maybe that is why Northwestern hasn't played Bradley since then.

When Dick Versace became coach in 1978, he wanted more exposure in the Chicago market (recruiting) but only Loyola was willing to play the Braves. DePaul (especially) and Northwestern didn't want anything to do with us (and nobody wanted to go to Robertson Fieldhouse). Versace still managed to recruit well in Chicago (his/ and Tony B's old stomping ground). The only way we got headlines in Chicago was to play a Chicago team. I went to that game at Northwestern in 1984 and there was almost as many Bradley fans as Wildcat fans. Unfortunately we laid an egg that night.

Can anyone name the area player who was recruited by and played at Northwestern, but then transferred and played a season at Bradley before injuries cut his career short?
He was a terrific player in high school, and averaged 11.6 ppg as a freshman at Northwestern and was a starter from day one. But he suffered an injury part way through his first season, transferred, and was never able to stay healthy after that.

Yes, You got it Wily. Matt Moran was a terrific player at Pekin HS, and was off to a great start at Northwestern his freshman year (1995-96) when he got injured (I think it was a broken foot). He played in only 11 games his freshman year at Northwestern and averaged 11.6 ppg and shot 51% overall and 46% from three.
Then they fired their coach (Ricky Byrdsong) after that season and Matt transferred to Bradley. After sitting out the 1996-97 season, he played in the first 16 games of the 1997-98 season for Bradley. But he was hampered by persistent pain in the foot and then re-injured the broken bone and missed the rest of the season. As I recall, he could never quite get it to heal and eventually decided to give up basketball.
          Below are his stats-

Bradley fans will be spread around the area.
Most Bradley fans probably booked their accommodations through the the Fort Myers Tip-Off Travel Packages that were available on the tournament website.

This post from July lists the 3 hotel options that were available for Bradley fans- Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort and Spa and Westin Cape Coral Resort and Spa, serving as the primary host hotels, plus the Pink Shell Beach Resort and Marina as a more expensive on-the-beach option-
Here is the latest information about the early-season tournament that Bradley will be playing in November 25 & 27- The Fort Myers Tip-off- https://www.fortmyerstipoff.com/landing/index It is a 4 team tournament- Bradley, Kansas State, Northwestern and Pittsburgh It will be played at the Suncoast Credit Union Arena, on the

From what I have heard, the most popular choice of those who booked through the organizers of the tournament seems to be the Westin, which is also the Bradley team hotel.
However, there are quite a few Bradley fans living down in south Florida, as well as many who have winter condos and residences there.
And I know of a number of fans who are going down on their own who booked their accomodations and bought tickets separately, which was a much less expensive option. I know some fans who are staying in Air B&B rentals on Fort Myers Beach. This is not quite yet the busiest time for rentals, so accomodations right on the beach were very reasonable.
Nice to hear so many fans are going!

Horrible half of basketball. Probably won’t watch the 2nd half. Can’t put myself through it. Hopefully, we don’t lose by 30. Ridiculous!

Bradley is not used to playing someone with this much size. We can’t just go rebound our own misses to salvage possessions, and we definitely aren’t an efficient offense. On the other end, they’ve hit threes above their season percentage Take away 2 makes puts them at 25% and we’d only be down 12. Okay, so that’s not the only reason northwestern is beating us on offense, but it explains some. That la cross player is cutting us up.
                            Gotta stop feeding the trolls.

Welp no way around it that was a horrid game. Worst execution since the home game against Drake last year. Response tomorrow will tell me a lot.
