This is real bad news for SIU and for their coach Bryan Mullins. Aaron Cook is the Saluki's leading scorer and team leader. Cook broke a bone in his right hand in Tuesday night's game game at Murray State. He will be out for an estimated 4-6 weeks.

A hand fracture is an especially troubling injury for a point guard, and it not always easy to come back from quickly. Cook is leading the Salukis in scoring at 15.0 points per game (6th in the MVC), and in assists at 3.3 assists per game (8th in the MVC). He also leads the MVC by a wide margin with 3.3 steals per game.-

This injury also hurts since they are not very deep, especially at the point guard position. The only other true point guard they have is freshman Trent Brown, who has played in all 6 of their games, averages 20 minutes per game, but averages just 0.5 assists per game, and 2.3 ppg. He is shooting only 18% from the field, and 14% from three. It is possible that Ronnie Suggs could even see some time at point guard. Recall that Ronnie played a lot of point guard his first season at Bradley (2015-16), and was 2nd on the team to DLO in assists that season.
