Interesting to Bradley fans would be Hersey Hawkins view of game. I appeal to Chris Reynolds and/or Dave Reynolds to share if permitted by Mr. Hawkins.

Also, interesting to Bradley fans would be an after game interview with a player. Last nights interview by Dave Snell would likely have been Nate Kennell.

Hersey made a stop in Peoria after being in Milwaukee on Thursday night for the Blazers game.

          Totally agree, Heem.

As most fans will recall, WMBD used to do a post-game interview with one of the players that the coaches sent up to the broadcast table after the game. But one of the first changes Coach Wardle made was he would not allow his players to be interviewed. That applied to post-game interviews and pretty much any interviews at any time. That's his prerogative, but I think fans would like to hear more from the players.

Great game where BU led from start to finish. Radford gave us some troubles with the press late in the 2nd half, but we did enough to fight them off. My thoughts for the last 5 minutes of the game were that we were playing not to lose instead of to win, and that allowed Radford to climb to within 5 (I think that's as close as they got), but in the end, we held them off.
Maintain a previous thought that Childs plays much better when Bar is not on the court with him. I'd love to see a +/- stat on that, so maybe I'll start keeping that one someday!
Thought the Radford coach and players were pretty well disciplined and classy, other than #12 getting into it with the student section (can't say I've seen that before), and honestly thought he was going to charge them at one point. Carlik Jones (#1) family was at the game, and what I assumed were friends of the family with them. When he went down hurt near the end of the game, some of the 'rowdier' fans started calling him out for flopping which caused his friends and family to get pretty worked up. In the end, other than a few words back and forth, nothing really came of it. I have to say, I was a little disappointed to see some BU fans mocking a guy laying on the court injured, but I know you'll get that at just about any sport's venue, but would hope that maybe in the future the guys that did that would reconsider. On the other side of the argument, Jones came back in the game a few minutes later, so considering the length of time he laid on the floor, the flop argument may not have been wrong. He did have a breakaway that he ended up missing when Kennel ran in front of him to throw him off (great play).

Lastly, I was able to meet Hersey and get my picture with him (which will be going on my living room wall). What a classy guy as he listened to me tell him what an honor it was to meet him and how watching him as a kid with my dad were some of the fondest memories of my childhood. He listened intently and spoke with me as if he had nowhere better to be, and never gave me the impression that he was in a hurry to move on when I'm sure he probably gets this quite a bit. I'd never met him in person but have always gotten the impression of how classy a person he was from his playing days and seeing him on television after he went to the pros and beyond. It's nice when you meet someone in person and they meet the expectations you've created in your mind. Pretty much one of the greatest nights ever meeting one of my top 5 sport's icons of all time. Let's hope this isn't the last time he comes to Carver, and maybe, just maybe, we can bring Jim Les back for a visit?

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

Paid attendance might have been listed as 5,167, but I wonder how many were actually in attendance. It looked to me like a lot less than that.

I'm glad we came away with the win. I thought in the second half Radford really played with abandon, and nearly caught us towards the end. I'm struggling for the right words. Out hustled us? More desire? Agree with Tommy about playing not to lose at the end. There were a few times we broke the press and had at least 2 on 1 and pulled it back out to run more time off the clock. On the other hand...we won the game. Radford is a pretty good team.

We are lucky to have Chris Reynolds as our AD. Someone who grew up here and knows what HH and BU generally mean to the community. Only wish word got out earlier to help attendance. It wasn’t even mentioned in the PJS the day of. Maybe it was still not confirmed with HH’s schedule.

Hersey also attended the women's game Saturday afternoon with Dr. Reynolds. I did not see a single mention of that anywhere. Attendance appeared to be between 100-200 depending on whether you count the Bradley Band. Considering the small venue and the minimal attendance, I think there would have been some fans who would have liked to know that so they could attend and have a better chance to say hello or get a picture with Hersey.
