Not the outcome I expected especially after the first half. Coach Wardle has his work cut out for him. Lots of talent to mesh together. Elijah had body language issues again in the 2nd half to the point of taking one off the head and causing a turnover in crunch time. There was a lot of quit on display. Disappointing loss!

Really disorganized and out of sorts in the 2nd half. Very disappointing loss. Need these out of conference games to build our resume. Would like to see more of Ville, especially when we are struggling with our shots. Who was guarding Daily? He just killed us.

An Absolutely awful game!! We were not ready to play. Our big guns went in the tank. Where was Ville? Our best shooter wasn't able to help.

The Braves were outplaying St. Joes during the first half and then "the refs" stepped in and called virtually everything St Joes way and at times I think Bradley was afraid to truly defend because everything they did was a foul and yet Childs and all can get whacked and nothing.... Fouls - 28 Bradley - 14 St Joes. So reminiscent of last years "at Drake" game. If anything this will be a learning experience for all. At the end the Braves appeared hurried and rattled. A good learning experience for the team on a hostile court with very poor refereeing ..

This game was certainly winnable but ultimately didn't shoot well enough and fouled too much. The good news was that we had 5 guys in double figures but down the stretch just didn't play good enough to win. You could tell on the radio after the game that Wardle was really disappointed in their execution. I expect a couple of hard practices the next two days. Hopefully we got the 1st game blues out of the way and come home on Saturday and kick butt.

I’ll give them this one. Lots of new guys need to gel. Gotta have court leadership from Childs... didn’t see enough of that. Refs did suck... every 50/50 call went to the home team. We will be ok. We will be better than last year.
                      Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

That one is a shocker. Little Rock beats MVC favorite Missouri State 67-66 in Springfield, MO-

One-time Bradley recruit Ben Coupet, Jr. (son of former Bradley player Ben Coupet, who played at Bradley from 1994-96 under Molinari) was the game's leading scorer. He spent his first 2 years at UNLV and saw very little playing time. He transferred and was granted a waiver to be eligible this season.

                          Report from BradleyBraves.com
Philadelphia, Pa. – Five Braves scored in double figures in the season opener but it wasn't enough for the Bradley men's basketball team as Saint Joseph's snuck out an 86-81 victory on Tuesday night.

Granted the refs didn't help us, but that's not why we lost. We shot 28.5% the second half. 14 turnovers but it felt like more. At times unfocus both sides of the ball. But there was bright spots early in the first half and our free throw shooting. Sometimes a loss like this can be a good wake up call. We're going to be a good team. Let's win the next one and start a nice winning streak.

Our defensive wasn't very good. We need to get the mojo back on defense. I do think like last year this team we will continue to improve. Defense is what made us so good last year and at the end of the day when we play teams with equal or better talent the defense/rebounding will be the difference.

It appears Koch Bar developed a further outside shot while Childs still struggles. Now I still don’t want Bar shooting but 1 or 2 of those. Bar still is very slow on defense.

I don’t want to blame the refs because we shot under 30% in second half, but once they started calling every foul on us, we seemed tentative on defense or to challenge drives by St Joe’s.

I like that we can go 9 deep and still think this team will improve and have a solid year.
