  • 2919-20 BU Record Prediction

Well, 2019-2020 BU MBB season is approaching and the schedule set.

What are fans' best predictions for BU Braves regular season record, and, MVC Conference record?

Will BU head back to NCAA'S next March????

The MVC will be notably tougher this year than last, and recall that Bradley was just 9-9 last year (though they did kick butt in St. Louis ).
So I think Bradley will win 20+ again, but we'll lose a couple MVC games we thought we would win.
Optimistic Prediction: 22-12, 11-7 in MVC
    (Pessimistic Prediction: 20-14, 10-8 )

Where was your prediction AZ? I missed it!

Losses I'm predicting are: vs. Kansas State, @ Memphis, @ Miami (OH), @ UNI, @ Missouri State, @ Loyola, @ Drake. I think we shouldn't lose a home game though odds probably are we have a slip up somewhere.

24-7 (13-5 MVC) going into STL, where we lose to MSU in the title game for a

26-8 final record, which puts us squarely on the bubble, and Billy Packer phones into the Selection Show to call the committee chair every name in the book after our name gets called over Wake Forest.

Undefeated NCAA champs. Finals won by a score of 210-0 against Duke.

On a side note, who wins between a team of miniature Brian Wardles and the 2020 Braves? I think clearly a tie that goes on for an eternity of OT’s. I think that’s what heaven is like.

I've got a theory that if you give 100 percent all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.

GREETINGS EVERYONE - I am slowly catching up, coming back, and getting ready for another basketball season....

I am sure that I don't need to replay all that occurred last season - but man what a roller coaster ride (highs and lows and back with some
magical moments at the end) with an incredible finish. I truly should have had a defibrillator near me those last few games and during the
MVC Tournament and NCAA against Michigan State.

I am READY FOR MORE and truly looking forward to this upcoming season.

Isn't it interesting that the "Streets & Smith" Pre-season ranking has Michigan State as # 1 - the team that Bradley gave fits too through late into
the second half of their 1st round NCAA game. To bad a regular season rematch could not be scheduled. Memphis (Bradley's Dec 3rd opponent)
          is ranked # 14.

As for my predictions - for me it is truly too early for me to consider. I will say this tho - Ben Jacobson (The Dean of the MVC) knew very well - finish
in the top 6 of the MVC standings to avoid a Thursday MVC tournament game and then anything can happen in the MVC tournament. And UNI "almost"
pulled it off. UNI was really bad at the beginning of last season and Ben just slowly kept on tuning his UNI team - and Wardle did the same. The Valley
is going to be extremely tough / difficult this year. Bradley, Missouri State (preseason choice), Loyola-Chicago, Drake, UNI are "all" going to be targets.

So for me it is a wait and see. After the Cancun tournament last season I thought - Bradley is truly Back. And then the MVC games began and I like
so many others fell into a slump - and then started to notice Bradley was beginning to win, and win a bit more frequent and then on the road. So I
did not know what to expect and I kept to myself and watched a strong regular season finish. The MVC tournament was both a magical and incredible
surprise and the MVC Tournament Championship comeback - simply incredible and likely a deficit record comeback that will never be topped.

I just hope the team and coaches are not to "sure of themselves" or "cocky" with all the new fan fare and media coverage going into this season. I hope
that they have the hunger that they displayed in the end of last years regular season, MVC Tournament and NCAA 1st round against a Final 4 team.
I hope that they all remember "what it took". I am truly going to miss DLO (who did no many little things on the court to throw off the opposing team and
assist Bradley), Luke (who along with DLO truly matured as a player), and Lundy who was always a steady force who knew how to handle pressure and
make key plays. I truly hope these 3 can somehow be replaced.

So catch me after "maybe" Thanksgiving and more likely before the first Drake game for me to provide a possible record for this year team. I need to
get a feel for where this teams and coaches heads and hearts truly are.

          GO BRADLEY.....

I don’t have a great feel for the rest of the league, so I’ll trust those who say it will be tougher.

I could see scenarios both ways for our squad. On the positive, Brown, Childs, and Kennel will be a very tough out. On the negative, we aren’t super deep in experienced and proven performers so any key injury is a season-changer.

Stay healthy and I like us for a top 3 finish. Lose Brown or Childs, or have a lack of floor leadership and we could perceivable finish bottom half.

My uncertain prediction, 11-7 Valley. Arch Madness final.
            Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

All I know is that if we lose to Northwestern and then win the Valley it would be an bad mark against the Valley because Northwestern won't win half dozen big ten games and is sure to finish last.

I agree nomonoles4u - Streets and Smith predicts Northwestern to finish 14 in the Big 10 - or last. Northwestern is playing at Bradley so I truly hope that is a "W" because 2 days later Bradley travels to a neutral court to play either Pitt or Kansas State in Fort Myers, Florida. Kansas State is predicted to finish 7th in the 10 team Big 12.and Pitt is predicted to finish 12th in the 15 team ACC. A loss to any of these truly hurts both Bradley and the Valley and any chance for the Valley to have 2 teams in the NCAA. 2 Wins on Nov 25 (Northwestern) and Nov 27 (K-State or Pitt) - then I will truly look forward to the Dec 3rd game against #14 Memphis at Memphis who is predicted to be 1st in the American Athletic Conference. 3 great games - and let's hope that there is not to much "rust" on this Bradley team for their first 5 games before Northwestern and seasoned players from last year who did not start step up and are able to replace DLO, Luke, and Lundy. Darrell, Elijah, and Nate are all seasoned players - Ja,Shan is right there and a huge pleasant surprise at the end of last season. I hope Koch and Ari both step up early - and others surprise me as Ja Shan did. Truly looking forward to this season. GO BRADLEY.

Go_Braves, the Northwestern game is not a home game for Bradley. It is also part of the Fort Myers Tip-Off and will be played in Fort Myers on a neutral court, the Suncoast Credit Union Arena.
I like Bradley's chances against Northwestern. But despite their low preseason rankings, they do have some decent young talent.

And NW has Chris Collins who has already accomplished more than any previous NW coach did in taking them to the NCAA 2nd round a couple years ago. Likewise Bruce Weber is a good coach who will be a tough out. Memphis is the polar opposite - a rookie coach with the nation's #1 recruiting class. Should be interesting.
