Bradley gets commitment from 6'9" Darius Hannah from Milwaukee Academy of Science.

    http://www.ny2lasports.com/player_de...?playerid=8226

He becomes Bradley's first commitment for 2020 (not counting one-time 2020 recruit Jamir Price, who revoked his commitment).
Bradley has 3 scholarships available for 2020 with 3 graduating seniors (Brown, Bar, Kennell), so this leaves the BU coaches with 2 remaining scholarships as of now.

Bradley has been recruiting him for about 1½ years, and stayed closely in touch with the big man. Late last night, he gave Bradley a verbal commitment.
He is somewhat thin, but very skilled, and he is described by several recruiting sites as having a high upside. He is a left handed forward with excellent ball-handling skills who averaged 15.5 ppg, 12.3 rpg, and 4.8 blocks per game his sophomore year.
He missed almost his entire junior season due to a serious knee injury (torn ACL) and played in only a few games at the end of the 2018-19 season. But he has recovered more fully and had a very impressive summer playing on the amateur summer circuit.

Very excited from the videos I saw. Handles the ball very well for a big. Not use to seeing our bigs put the ball on the floor like he does. Also impressed with his ability to step out on the floor and make shots. Looks like a good replacement for Bar.

Awesome, I would love to see us get a strong class and keep the momentum going. I am a fan of what I saw in the videos from Perkins too.

After watching all the videos I could find of Darius Hannah, and reading recruiting reports, I think he reminds me a lot of what I saw in Elijah Childs at the same stage of his high school career.
Elijah committed to Bradley at nearly the same point (Childs committed October 2, 2017) going into his senior season. He was a bit under the radar and not very highly recruited after his junior year. Then he blew up and had a great summer between his junior and senior years (2016), and started getting a lot more attention. Fortunate for Bradley, he made his decision early and signed with BU in November, 2016. He went on to have a fantastic senior season, and surely would have gotten a bunch of other offers, likely including some high-major offers.
Our first thread about Elijah Childs-

Darius Hannah was actually a fairly highly touted prospect who put up great numbers as a sophomore in a highly competitive conference in Milwaukee (15.5 ppg, 12.3 rpg, and 4.8 blocks per game). But, he was overlooked last year because of his ACL injury that caused him to miss all but the final 4 games of last season. Then he had a really good summer in AAU ball and started getting a lot of attention again. But fortunate for Bradley again, and due to the great recruiting by our staff, he decided he wanted to end his recruitment and commit now. In his videos, he shows a lot of similarity to Elijah Childs, and not just because they are both lanky left-handers. Both show good athleticism, good moves around the basket, and the ability to dribble, and make shots from away from the basket. Let's hope Darius can stay healthy, get stronger, and have a great career at Bradley like Elijah Childs is having!

Here are a couple recent videos of Darius Hannah again-
Darius Hannah can throw down some impressive JAMS! He did that and so much more leading to a great year for him on the Prep Hoops Circuit!

I am happy with the commitment. I see him more as a forward than a replacement for Bar in the post. My personal preference for the post is someone of height with some more bulk. I don't know what position Mast will play.

I think Mast will play a similar game to Luuk van Bree, with hopefully a little better inside/rebounding game.

Nice.....was hoping to get some size for the future, we seem guard heavy and could use another big IMO.

Good skill and ballhandling. I don't see why he can't get immediate playing time as is but he could be real good with 20 more lbs. Great news!

Looks to be athletic for his size but he will need to bulk up a bit for college play. I'm hoping to hear more recruiting news soon!

Nice article about recent Bradley commit Darius Hannah-
                        https://www.prephoops.com/2019/10/da...senior-season/

It is a premium article, but I will summarize what it says-

Hannah suffered a torn ACL at the start of his junior season at the Milwaukee Academy of Science.
He had a terrific sophomore season- 15.5 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 4.8 blocks per game, but suffered the ACL injury before the start of his junior season.
Hannah played summer ball for All In Athletics and had a terrific summer. "He threw down dunks on defenders, made outside shots, and played phenomnal defense".
He now says, “I’m 100% healthy,” and “I just wear the brace for protection. My knee is stronger than it was before, I can move faster and jump higher.”
As we had reported, Bradley offered Hannah a scholarship in May of 2018. He committed to Bradley about a week ago over offers from UW-Milwaukee, Southern Illinois, Colorado State, Grambling State, and more.
Hannah says this about Bradley: “It’s a great fit, not far from home, and I feel my future is bright there.”
He is expecting a productive senior season.

He is currently ranked #6 in the class of 2020 in Wisconsin by PrepHoops Wisconsin.
                        https://www.prephoops.com/wisconsin/...2020-rankings/

He is also ranked #8 in their list of Top 10 Mr. Basketball Candidates in Wisconsin-
                        https://www.prephoops.com/2019/10/to...ll-candidates/

8 ) Darius Hannah: After returning from an ACL injury, Hannah’s first steps to full recovery were on display this summer. It was a glimpse the Prep Hoops Staff can vouch for, but the lack of real film makes his status still guesswork.

As a prospect, his size, length, and athletic talent are miles ahead of the next best forward in the division four field. For the Bradley commit, dominance is not only likely but expected.

Here are a couple more recent comments from the past few months about Darius Hannah from a premium recruiting site.
These are all prior to his commitment to Bradley-

8/17/19- 2020 Class Ranking #6. Darius Hannah – PF – Milwaukee Academy of Science/All-In Athletics
                          Previous: 14
Loved what I saw from Hannah at the Prep Hoops Summer Challenge. The Milwaukee Academy of Science forward went toe-to-toe with some really good post prospects and dominated them. The scary part? He’s coming off a torn ACL and still isn’t 100 percent yet. The 6-foot-9 senior has arguably the best upside in the 2020 class.

                          8/1/19- Darius Hannah – PF – All-In Athletics
Maybe it’s because of the torn ACL suffered last season, but Hannah is being slept on by Division 1 schools. In July, he outplayed a number of forwards with better offer lists and even high major caliber players as well. The kid has put the injury behind him and is playing the best ball of his life. The 6-foot-8 forward is a matchup nightmare with his length, ball handling ability, 3-point shooting, and transition presence. If I’m a mid-major, this is an easy offer. If I’m high major, I’m closely watching this development in the fall.

                          7/9/19- Darius Hannah – 2020 – PF – All-In Athletics
Hannah missed most of his junior season with a torn ACL. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think Hannah was all the way back to 100 percent. In a lot of ways he was. Hannah played better than I had ever seen out of him and put himself back in the top 10 of the class of 2020 rankings with his performance. A walking double-double in Chicago, the Milwaukee Academy of Science standout flashed a huge upside. At 6-foot-9, Hannah can handle and shoot the basketball off the dribble. He’s got a smooth and efficient face-up game from mid-range. Using his ridiculous length on the defensive end, Hannah protected the rim at a high level. His lateral quickness is still coming along since he returned late last season, but Hannah does appear to have most of his bounce back.

                          7/8/19- BREAKOUT PERFORMANCE
Darius Hannah – All-In Gold Gauntlet
A torn ACL forced Hannah to miss nearly his entire junior season. He wasn’t showing many ill effects in Chicago. The high-upside forward was flashing all sorts of things as All-In reached the 17U quarterfinals before falling in a tight game to Wisconsin Playground Club. At 6-foot-9, Hannah is a scary mismatch nightmare with his ability to handle the ball, shoot from distance, or face-up from mid-range. Given Hannah’s ridiculous length and exciting bounce, he’s likely moving back into the top 10 rankings in 2020.

                          6/24/19- Darius Hannah – 2020 – F – All-In Athletics
Coming off injury, Hannah showed some big time flashes in the spring. A long, athletic forward, Hannah can do some special things. Despite being raw physically, Hannah has some explosive athleticism around the rim. He can stretch the floor from 3-point range and handle the ball a little bit in transition. Hannah has a Division 1 skill set and measurables, but may be a guy that goes the prep/JUCO route and just takes off once he can get into a collegiate strength and conditioning program and really focus on developing his skills.

2020 Bradley commit Darius Hannah and his Milwaukee Academy of Sciences high school will play their first game of the 2019-20 season Saturday (Nov. 30). They will play one of the top ranked teams in the state of Wisconsin, Nicolet HS. That will be a tough test for Darius Hannah and the MAS team.

Nicolet is the reigning state champion in Wisconsin Division 2 (MAS is ranked 2nd in Division IV preseason rankings), and they would have been even better this season, but their top 2 players recently transferred to prep schools for their senior seasons. 2019 Duke commit Jalen Johnson who is a Top 5 recruit in the country, recently transferred to IMG Academy in Florida, and 2019 Georgetown commit Jamari Sibley, a 4-star recruit, recently transferred to Oak Hill Prep in Virginia. Nicolet is still ranked 5th in the Division 2 preseason rankings. Bradley is recruiting 2 of their current players-
Kobe Johnson, brother of Jalen Johnson, is a 2021 Bradley recruit- https://www.bradleyfans.com/forum/sp...229#post488229

Maybe Coach Wardle might be heading up to Milwaukee to watch that game. It will be played at Brown Deer High School, a north suburb of Milwaukee as part of the Fresh Coast Classic tournament. The game is at 6:15 pm.

Darius Hannah was having a good game, and Milwaukee Academy of Sciences was leading a very good Nicolet team early in the 2nd half when Darius Hannah went down with what appeared to be a cramp in his left leg. He returned to the game, but later in the half, he went down with what looked like a cramp in his right leg. Meanwhile, with Hannah limited by the recurring cramps, Nicolet took the lead and has pulled away to a 55-45 lead late in the game.
